this has potential to be annoying:

So there is this really hot chick at work. I talk to her at least once a day about random things going on in both of our lives. Of course she's married. This is one of my workplace annoyances.

AND NOW THE STUPID SON OF A BITCH HAS RECALLED THE MESSAGE

DO YOU NOT REALIZE THAT EVERYONE DELETED IT THE FIRST TIME AND NOW THEY HAVE TO DELETE THE MESSAGE TELLING THEM THAT IT WAS RECALLED?

IT WASN'T PERSONAL OR ANY TYPE OF SECRET INFORMATION, MAN. USE YOUR FUCKING HEAD.

While the two of you are frantically busy each and every day you work (all two of them per week) to pass your shift on to me, let's just agree that I'll be working 70 hours this week and be done with it. Suits me just fine.

fun email to receive on a monday morning:

Quote :
"Happy Monday Morning !

The phone lines are out for the entire building. It has been called in to IT and they are working on it. I will update you as I hear more. "

^^^ I often, often get recalls on e-mails that have simple typos/punctuation errors.

1) Get an e-mail.
2) Get the -recall e-mail.
3) Get the first e-mail again, this time with a period on the end of the last sentence.

I see this shit all the time at work.

Seriously, what the fuck is the point of the recall feature? It does nothing but waste bandwidth and email quotas. Whoever decided it was a good idea has a colombian necktie coming to him.

Quote :

there are people who don't realize people generally get the first message before it gets recalled.. so yea, they think they're being slick and fixing shit before anyone notices. but in reality theyre just annoying the fucking piss out of everyone

The whole concept of the e-mail recall feature is to alert the recipient(s) to the likelihood of there being some serious dirt in the original e-mail.

"Let's see what Bob was so desperate for me not to read."

except you can't read it after it's been recalled

however, most folks have already read it before the recall is sent because we get a little alert in the corner of the screen every fucking time we get an email.

not true. it depends on how your email is setup. on ours the "recall" feature does jack shit besides sending out an email saying that blah blah blah is being recalled.

gets here at 11

goes to lunch at or before noon

gets back at 1

walks around and talks to everyone until at least 1:30

answers emails for 30 mins

leaves at 2

..and makes more than me

come back at 3

leave when the market closes

yeah, he does.

the problem is he isn't a partner or part owner or anything, doesn't get anything done that he needs to and ultimately is a waste of money that should have and was supposed to have been gotten rid of multiple times. he can talk his way out of anything though.. and i guess i'd do it too if i could

That 12 out of 20 people have gone home sick today. I'm more annoyed that they came into work throwing up to begin with. Now I have to lysol my entire office.

Hmm... I have a lot of these but I think my number 1 is copier related...

I frequently have to make copies of large stacks of individual invoices etc that have to be done one at a time. It usually takes me 20-30 minutes each time.

There are literally less than 15 people that work where I do, and out of them only 5 should ever even need to use a copier. We have two copiers.

So my pet peeve is when I'm doing my huge stack of copies and someone comes in with "one quick copy can I please just squeeze in here real quick?" and makes me stop doing what I'm doing instead of just walking down the fucking hall and using that copier.

Maybe so, but seeing as how I'm lowest on the totem pole around here... it just doesn't seem like that great of an idea. Still annoying though.

Perhaps you are lowly, because you enable it.

It really annoys me when someone leaves me a voicemail, and then follows up with an email, when all they had to do was send an email to begin with....

Or perhaps I'm lowly because I am lowly. If we could enable a truly automated phone system I probably wouldn't even have a job.

Oh we have an automated system that I turn on when I leave... but they don't want us using it during the day... still a big emphasis on customer service... and since basically no one is ever at their desk, it's my job to find them when necessary and get them on the phone.

An intern working for our department is a fucking moron! I have to babysit his ass all the freakin time b/c I dunno what idiotic thing he's gonna do next. Example:

He was asking for coffee and I told him we have some coffee beans in the office and he should just go and make some. I came back in the office and the coffee smelled damn good. I then noticed that the pot looked like tea. I opened the top and found out he didn't know he's suppose to grind the coffee beans before brewing it. There's a grinder right next to the coffee maker with the label, "Coffee Grinder."

My boss wanted me to fire his ass for being a retard.

^That sounds like something I would have done my first year at a "real job".

I mean, I don't do the whole "brew coffee at home" thing so how was I to know it needed to be ground up?

Although I did work in the food industry in HS and I totally knew that coffee grounds are what I put in the machine in order to brew it. So yeah, now that I think about it, that is a kinda bonehead thing to do.

Fire him!

Someone owes me a big old apology because the laptop just walked into my office and I had nothing to do with it being lost for 4 weeks.

It'll never happen but I feel good that I was right.

V That's awesome, what does he do?

How are grown men unable to use a toilet without getting shit, piss, and ass dust all over the seat?

seriously, what the hell are they doing?

I always assume that the morbidly obese peopl are so fat that it's hard to determine the position of their asshole relative to the opening of the toilet when their fat rolls completely cover the toilet, but there really aren't that many people around here with that level of obesity as a ratio to the nasty toilets.

Even though the bathrooms are cleaned twice a day, it's usually about 2 or 3 tries before I find an acceptable toilet.
