^Jesus Christ.

It's amazing that even people who make a lot like that, don't understand that they still have to live within their means.

Just because you make $350k a year, doesn't mean that you get to have anything and everything that you want.

I didn't have enough time between work and my hair appointment to eat decent food (and I don't want to eat lunch at 3:30) so I got fast food

Quote :
"The malaise is shared by Schiff, the New York-based marketing director for Euro Pacific Capital, where his brother is CEO. His family rents the lower duplex of a brownstone in Cobble Hill, where his two children share a room. His 10-year- old daughter is a student at $32,000-a-year Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn. His son, 7, will apply in a few years.

"I can't imagine what I'm going to do," Schiff said. "I'm crammed into 1,200 square feet. I don't have a dishwasher. We do all our dishes by hand."

He wants 1,800 square feet -- "a room for each kid, three bedrooms, maybe four," he said. "Imagine four bedrooms. You have the luxury of a guest room, how crazy is that?"

The family rents a three-bedroom summer house in Connecticut and will go there again this year for one month instead of four. Schiff said he brings home less than $200,000 after taxes, health-insurance and 401(k) contributions. The closing costs, renovation and down payment on one of the $1.5 million 17-foot-wide row houses nearby, what he called "the low rung on the brownstone ladder," would consume "every dime" of the family's savings, he said.

"I wouldn't want to whine," Schiff said. "All I want is the stuff that I always thought, growing up, that successful parents had." "

Don't get me wrong -- bringing in $350k and coming out with <$200k after taxes and other deductions sucks, but damn...really?

Alzheimer's-Like Memory Loss Reversed in Mice

WEDNESDAY, Feb. 29 (HealthDay News) -- New research in mice suggests that Alzheimer's disease triggers a protein that contributes to the breakdown of the brain's memory.

If the findings are confirmed in humans, they could solve part of the puzzle of how gunk-like substances in the brain cause Alzheimer's disease and lead to memory loss. It's conceivable that a drug could be developed to turn off the process and reverse memory problems -- as the researchers managed to do with mice.

Neighbors. Mind you, the woman that came to complain about my bass, is the same woman whom, at 3-friggin 30 in the morning, or at random points during the day, would be yelling... to where I could hear her over anything I could be doing.

So... either I spend money and get a fancy headset with suitable bass, and/or my sub woofer will have to just sit here collecting dust."

Saw that on my Facebook feed a few minutes ago.

So a guy I went to high school with posted this after Christmas on Facebook:

Tim: "I just realized that my TV has a 4:3 aspect ratio and Skyrim/Xbox is in a 16:9 aspect ratio that can't be changed, so I can't see my health and magicka bars."
Me: "That's probably the best first world problem I've heard in a while..."
Tim: "No, it doesn't matter what world I'm in, it's throughout the entire game."

Flying up some folks to NYC for each weekend in March...swung a corp apt last minute so they could stay somewhere for free...downside is it's in NJ. Went to check it out today...other downside of doing some last minute wheeling and dealing was that apparently the realtor didn't have anyone come clean the apt between when the last tenant moved out on Fri and today...dirty dishes in the sink, dirty towels on the floor, dirty sheets in the bed. Ordered some food...bug in my salad

Screw Jersey City. I blame Snooki

[Edited on March 4, 2012 at 10:13 PM. Reason : complaining about my 3rd apt = first world problem]

Yeah seriously... I can't even look at the 4:3 aspect ratio tv's and monitors anymore. Even I think 16:10 isn't wide enough.

My first world problem right now is that my Triple 570 sli system is soaking up my entire 850w OCZ power supply so I can't overclock my cpu properly without removing one of the 570's or buying a bigger power supply...

I am use to my TV remote compensating for going too far when fast forwarding or rewinding so when watching a DVD today, I've gone too far twice while rewinding and it didn't auto-compensate for my delayed reflexes.

I did 2 brackets for a pool, paid for 2, but only submitted one by accident. The one I didn't submit would have won and gotten me some $Rhode Island.

Poole's doesn't take brunch reservations and Irregardless is booked up for Sunday. Made a reservation at Capital Club 16. Hoping it's good so I don't have to hear any family complain about how I ruined Easter brunch.

I just started getting my nails done about a month ago. I had a fill in two days ago and broke one of my nails this afternoon. My son was with me and high as a flippin' kite after an egg hunt at his school, so I could go get it fixed. Instead I had to go into the drug store for nail glue to fix it.

I have a big decision to make: Will tomorrow night's dinner be the clams, the filet, or the lamb chops?

I hate these decisions.
