I just realized that I'm in a league with $300 in payments but only $220 in prizes, with $80 going to the website. I'm going to have to get out of that. It's a fun dynasty but why play when you lose a quarter of your money right off the bat and lose even if you're above average over the years?

Maybe an odd question to even ask, but I feel I need to. Pick 2 of these RBs:
LT at Denver Jamaal Charles at Houston MJD at Tennessee
I can make an argument for each one of the 3, which is why I'm not sure which to bench. It seemed like Charles got the bulk of the carries in Indy last week, and Houston has been awful on defense. LT looks like he's back, and Denver hasn't been playing great defense. Jones-Drew just hasn't live up to expectations so far (plus has kind of been beat up all season), but I'm finding it hard to convince myself to take him out for a week. I'm thinking LT and MJD, but want to see what you think? 10/15/2010 11:59:47 PM |

Got a few good running backs and cant make up my mind.
Chris Johnson vs Jacksonville Arian Foster vs KC Ahmad Bradshaw vs Detroit
Obviously start Chris Johnson, but Ahmad and Arian are poised to have good games too... thoughts? Start 2
(and how do you sit the leading rusher?)

I would simply go foster due to my Tenn pull... but I think they could both have good games
Is it safe to play cribbs over colsten this week in a league that counts return yards? Cribbs has doubled what colsten has done thus far, and meachem looks like a more go to guy at this point- but he's gotta breakout at some point, right?
how about cribbs over mike thomas in another league (also with return yds).... 10/16/2010 12:56:49 PM |

^ I would prob play Cribbs over Thomas in the one league...not sure about the other.
Need to pick 3 rb to start: Chris Johnson @ Jac Rashard Mendenhall vs Cle Matt Forte vs. Sea Jamal Charles @ Hou
Also, what about Aaron Rodgers? Should I risk him getting knocked out again, or play Matt Ryan instead? 10/16/2010 1:39:06 PM |

I think rodgers will be ok... I think- I gotta hope he is cause it is either him or favre for me, and I don't like favre (I know he will play, but I don't like him with tendinitis)
CJ, Forte, and Charles would be my call

^^I would bench Charles and roll with the other 3
return yardage leagues piss me off, a Cribbs vs Colston decision should be a no-brainer. I like giving all of the return points to the D/ST position on the roster, we are doing that in one league I'm in and it makes it a lot more fair. If you have Desean Jackson and he returns a punt for a TD, you get the points for a touchdown but we dont include yardage. Philly's D/ST also gets credit for the TD. 10/16/2010 3:59:36 PM |

Need some serious trade advice: I get: Malcom Floyd, SD WR Joe Flacco, Bal QB
I give: Tom Brady, NE QB Donald Brown, Ind RB Q
Standard scoring keeper league, I have Moss, Colston, Nate Washington as my starting QB and Ryan Fitz as my backup QB. Need WR help. Should I get rid of Brady with Moss leaving? 10/16/2010 4:58:34 PM |

FWIW, Yahoo has this to say about Chris Johnson:
Johnson (thigh) was limited in practice on Saturday, but he's officially listed as probable for Monday's game against Jacksonville, the Titans' official site reports. 10/16/2010 7:49:43 PM |

^^I don't think you should give up on Brady just because Moss is leaving. Moss really didn't have spectacular stats before he was traded. That being said, the trade looks pretty even to me. Floyd would definitely boost your WRs....I don't know, it's a toss up for me. 10/16/2010 7:55:52 PM |

this will always be a point of contention- but cribbs gets alot of stuff non-return wise too
and the argument that a guy that can start the team out with great field position by getting them to the 40 or 50 yd line instead of the 20 is something you and saps miss... Cribbs is making more than alot of "stud" receivers (in terms of salary)- because he is worth it to the team. Also, comparing him to colsten is perfect, cause coslten has yet to score a td, and yet to break 100yds (of any sort) in a game. If you ask any player in the NFL who has been a better player for the team, they will say cribbs
Fantasy points are based off of stats- stats which help out the team. If you want to take away return yards, lets take away receiving and rushing yards too... I think it is silly to think that I guy who can make a 40 yd punt return is not worth squat unless he gets a td. I can understand if you want less points, but to say he doesn't deserve points is like saying he doesn't matter to the team.
now I know some leagues don't have it (alot of leagues don't actually), but if you are gonna be in a 12-14 team league with 3 starting receivers a piece, you need to have other aspects that can help you get some talent. Especially if you have the Coston's or Steve Smith (car) guys on your team- otherwise your f-ed

I'm not saying that I want to get rid of return yards/points, I'm just saying they piss me off
Chron John used to be the worst, he wouldnt even draft regular receivers, he just went after returners and would weasle his way into scoring as many points as the #1 or #2 receivers.
I know the value of returners to their teams, and how their value translates over to fantasy football in leagues that reward yards, hell ,Desean Jackson and Percy Harvin have won me a couple matchups with their punt/kickoff returns in the past, so I'm not bitching like I never benefit from it.
It just pisses me off when Johnny Lee Higgins has 180 return yards because Oakland gives up 6 touchdowns (which leads to 6-7 kickoffs a game) and he has little impact on the game outside of the 20 return yards he gets and puts his team on the 25 yard line. 10/16/2010 9:33:45 PM |

I've been disgusted with the Baltimore defense in terms of takeaways, so I dropped them and picked up the San Fran defense for today. I'll work out a longterm solution at some point, but for this week that's OK.
Anyway, on to my VERY IMPORTANT questions.
Brady (versus BAL -- while they don't take the ball away, they do prevent TDs well) or McNabb ---> I'm leaning Brady because I hate sitting him but with no Moss anymore I wonder how the offense will adjust.
Brandon Tate or Brandon Lloyd (well, or Sims-Walker but fuck him) ---> leaning Tate with Lloyd going against the Jets defense and the fact that I get return points
McCoy, Jackson, Greene and Torain; pick 2 ---> McCoy and Jackson seem like the easy choices but for some reason Torain is projected for 13 and Jackson only 11. Probably sticking McCoy/Jackson though no matter what.
^ last update, Hillis should play but it's still not the strongest of plays against a very good Steelers run defense.

Brandon Tate, Kevin Walter, or Heath Miller in the flex slot? I'm leaning towards Heath Miller with Big Ben back, and it stands to be seen how Tate fits in with Moss gone and Branch in the fold. 10/17/2010 11:52:49 AM |

^ ...hmmm.
I actually think Tate may be the better play there, especially because you'll get Return Yards (or) a potential for a Return TD. It also remains to be seen how rusty Ben will be and if there will be a need to throw a ton with them playing the lowly Browns (who are starting a 3rd string QB against the Steelers D).
just food for thought. I would actually lean in Tate's direction. 10/17/2010 12:32:57 PM |

I'm trying to pick my tight end for this week between Tony Gonzalez and Mercedes Lewis. Gonzalez has been fairly unproductive, but he's playing a Philly defense that gives up big plays to the TE. Meanwhile, Lewis has been very productive and is playing a team with abyssmal pass defense in Houston. 10/17/2010 12:47:26 PM |

Just when D. Jackson is having his breakout game and rewarding me for leaving him in, not that I had a lot of options with the bye weeks and injuries. At least he put up a productive stat line in less than a half of work. I'm concerned about next week.
Of course, anyone with Philly wideouts has to be concerned with Kolb at the helm. He throws only to TEs and RBs for awhile before throwing a hospital ball. He has been doing this since he came back in for Vick (who ironically, was the king of the hospital ball in his Falcon days).
