The dude is like, 21 or 22. Cut him some slack on an odd metaphor during an interview

i don't think he was trying to say he wants out of Carolina at all. i wouldn't worry too much about that one.

Anybody have any tips on good places to scalp tickets or tailgate near the stadium?

Scalpers will be everywhere.

I generally tailgate around 3rd/Church St., it's a short walk to the stadium. Though I almost always take the light rail, so I don't have to worry about paying for parking. Obviously the closer you are to the stadium, the more $$$$ you will have to pay for parking.

I'm shit with street names, but here's a map I made earlier. Red is good parking, black x's are good scalping.

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/12/08/2837053/steve-smith-credits-newton-for.html

Quote :
"Smith said there used to be a mentality where players were applauded for being good people and “pillars in the community,” regardless of their talent level.

“When your best is off the field (and) you ain’t doing very good on the field – your primary job – I think we need less guys that are worried about outside and need to start taking care of work inside,” Smith said. “I’m not saying we have that case now. But I think that’s been in the past where people (said), 'Oh, I love that guy. He’s a great guy.’ But he can’t play.”

“I’m no more the minority, the passionate guy, the loose cannon,” Smith said. “They’re getting a lot of guys in here that are no-nonsense, punch-you-in-the-mouth kind of guys.”"

lol

I've parked in that southernmost lot a few times, and walked under the bridge (Mint St/277). There's always a shit load of folks funneling through there and there's usually a drumline or something posted up under the bridge so that gets amplified and it's loud as shit through there and people are screaming and shit, gets me pumped up for a game.

So the places in red, are they areas where you go pay like $50 for parking and tailgate there, or are they permit only places?

the smallest one in the north is permit-only during Panthers games, not sure about during the Belk Bowl

most of them are pay $20-$30 to park with no permit required

I heard you can park at Light Rail and then walk a few blocks to stadium. Anyone know about this???

The Stonewall station on the light rail doesn't have parking, but is ~4 blocks from BOA Stadium

http://charmeck.ci.charlotte.nc.us/city/charlotte/cats/lynx/lynxstations/Pages/default.aspx

You can park south of downtown at one of the stations shown. Round trip ticket is $3.50

Yeah, the only streets I'm actually pretty good with (around the stadium) are Graham and Stonewall. Stonewall turns into Park Rd. which my uncle lives on, but any would be good.

^ I'll check it out! Thank you. Mine would have to be a park and ride, but I don't know which would be another close option.

Also, how much do parking decks run?? I know late at night you don't have to pay.
