That's high on the list, especially since I'm pretty handy with german

I just don't know if I want to try and see as much as possible while I'm over there, take it slow, try some mix, or what route to take.

I'm thinking france (since that's where I'll have a free hotel), belgium (family friends), germany (I'm good with german), and england (a friend just moved there). I kinda want to go to spain or italy, though, but I'm not sure. I'd love to make it to iceland.

I won't know until a week or two prior if I'm even going. I also don't know how much time I'll have.

^Don't know if I'll have time to get over there, either. Husband's family is irish, and we didn't go on the family trip to ireland last year. We would like to go.

I spent a summer and france, and despite all the hating that it gets from most people, I had a blast out there and almost everyone there was super nice to me (there were a couple of shop owners that gave us a hard time for being Americans, but this day and age, I think you will find that almost anywhere)

I had some people be pretty rude to me in Paris. My accent probably doesn't help

But yea, Germany was fun as shit.. was there with someone who had lived there for about 6 months though so he knew some local places.

I've just never been a fan of anything french, at all. I figure we'll hit up the eiffel tower b/c it has nerd appeal and I'll hit up some cultural stuff in paris (assuming we'd fly into CDG, and stay in paris. For all we know, Z could be working in some BFE town 3hrs away...whatever)

...but there's so much else to see in europe

I'm also a little ashamed of going over as a fat american

I spent most of my time in Nantes and other smaller northern/coastal towns, and I didn't have problems there
