All,

I found out yesterday that I'm leaving for Qatar/Afghanistan earlier than I thought (like, in a couple of weeks).

Pretty much everything but my Ram is up for sale. I'm not desperate to sell any of it, but I have no real reason to keep any of it while I'm deployed (with the exception of the truck, so I'll have something to drive immediate when I get home, and so I can use it to haul/tow my stuff next time I move). I think pics of everything are in my gallery.

1. '03 Yamaha GP1300R. Built engine, RIVA Stage II, '05 pump (upgrade over earlier spec), extended nozzle, Renthal bars, aftermarket ride plate/intake grate/exhaust/etc. It hauls ass, starts immediately every time, and runs perfectly (except for when my buddy flipped it once and air got in the fuel lines). Had it all tuned up at the dealership at the end of last season...haven't ridden it since (although I've hooked the hose up and cranked it up a few times over the winter). Includes a single trailer, too.

$4200

2. 2002 Suzuki SV-650 (last year of the "round" body)

black, 20,300 miles, ART exhaust (stainless), fork seals and front brake pads replaced, Racetech springs & heavier fork oil, frame sliders, swingarm sliders, bar-end mirrors (still have OEM mirrors and bar-end weights), tires are pretty fresh.

also have soft saddlebags that I'll include.

$2700

3. Tandem axle trailer. 3500# axles, brakes on both, removeable sides and gate, 12'x6.5' deck. Has ramps.

$1500

4. 2000 Honda S2000. 102k miles. Dunlop Direzza Star-Specs in pretty good shape. Has a few little nicks in the paint on the door, and a few small tears in the top. EBC Green Stuff brakes (rears just installed, fronts still in the box). Clutch replaced by previous owner. Just replaced battery (Advance Auto "Gold"), changed oil (Mobil 1), and replaced spark plugs and serpentine belt. Overall in pretty good shape for a 10 year old car, though.

$9500

Cash always works, and/or I'd work trades for an R-series BMW motorcycle, an older, inexpensive 600cc sportbike, a LARGE enclosed trailer, or maybe a 12-gauge shotgun (don't need anything exotic, although I don't want junk).

FS: Jeep XJ 4x4- 6.5" lift, 35" tires..& lots more

I have a '90 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) 4X4 that I've completely stripped and built for offroad use. Not sure on mileage...over 100k. Engine still pulls great...has a slight tick and takes a second to startup, but other than that, once it's cranked, it GOES! zxappeal can attest to this.

It's a little rough around the edges, but would make someone a great crawler. I've driven this thing to Uwharrie three times and back...no problems at all. (minus a power steering leak that has been fixed).

Specs:
-6.5" Rough Country Lift kit (full spring kit...NOT AAL)
-35" Maxxis Bighorn tires....~30% tread left...still plenty of life and grip amazing well out at Uwharrie
-D30 front axle, regeared to 4.88 and an Aussie Locker
-Ford 8.8 rear axle, regeared to 4.88 and a Lincon Locker (welded diff)
-Tom Woods SYE kit
-Tom Woods custom driveshaft
-NICE steel front and rear bumpers
-Homebuilt hinged rear hitch Spare Tire mount with spare 35" tire...worked like a champ at Uwharrie
-Smittybilt XRC8 winch (8k pounds...more than enough to pull this thing)
-basically BRAND NEW spotlights on the front bumper...havent even used them yet. Just mounted them.
-Nice Roofrack for carrying extra camping gear for you and your buddies
-Optima Red Top battery - Installed and used for ONE trip to Uwharrie and it's been parked since.
Additional:
-NICE Cobra CB radio & antenna that's been tweaked & tuned for moar powr
-Dixie Horn (what offroad vehicle is complete without one of these?)

Interior carpet has been completely stripped and floorboards have been painted with a textured "bed liner" spray.

Automatic transmission with NP242 transfer case. (again, with Tom Woods SYE installed)

The bad:
The rear main seal is leaking pretty dang bad...but I have a brand new one that I'll give you that I havent had time to install.

Transfer case probably needs to be torn down and resealed, as there's a slight leak from where I didnt RTV it up well enough last time I rebuilt it. Everything shifts/works GREAT though.

Might want to reweld the rear spring perches to fix the rear driveshaft angle. It works fine, but it definitely needs to be tweeked. Or you could possibly install larger shims.

Spare parts that comes with it:
-Complete spare set of front D30 and rear 8.8 axle shafts
-Spare front driveshaft (can be bolted up as EITHER a front or rear driveshaft if needed on the trails)

I'm asking $2700 obo. (Have a good bit more than that sunk into this thing...but I realize this is TWW) I realize i'm starting high on the price...but i'm not dead set on selling it either. Lots of blood was lost in the building of this thing, lol.

Might also consider trades on a good condition 4wd 4wheeler.

Pics in my gallery...can post more if needed.

hey guys, a little help with a possible purchase...there is a scoot on craigslist that i really want. i checked it out yesterday and it is in great shape. only problem is it is over 50CC and "you have" to register it EXCEPT there is no title for this scooter. They got it from a real estate auction a couple years ago and the original owner had already passed away. They don't have any documents of this purchase.

MY QUESTION, how much less should i offer this guy for the scooter...10%, 20%, 30%??? what do yall think is a good amount if they're asking for $1000?

My experience with that on a motorcycle is that's a pain in the ass like you read about.

Also, figure on having to pay for an indemnity bond iot get a title.

They'd have to almost give it to me for me to bother with it.

Agreed.

I'd just ride it without registering it, but you'd want to remove any indication that it's over 50cc and you'd have to accept the risks associated with doing that. I certainly wouldn't pay full market price.

Just get a 50cc scoot and deal with the small displacement deficiencies. If you're dropping $1k you can get a low mileage reliable scoot and not have to deal with jack shit. If that's not good enough grab a real motorcycle. Those KLR-650s, Dr-650s and DR-350s can be found pretty cheap sometimes.

^I already have a 'real' motorcycle and I agree with yall if this was just a regular scooter but i've been looking for this thing for about 2 years now. I saw one similar to this back in december and it wasn't in as good condition as this one and that seller was asking for double the amount.

I'm thinking about using one of those titling companies to get it titled. It ranges from $250-300 and with the work involved im gonna see if this guy will take $400 less for it.

Ok. I didn't know it was something special. I just assumed it was one of those 125cc Chinese scoots or something.

There's a brand new 2010 Mustang GT coupe that I can buy for ~$23,500 from over here. It's actually already delivered in the States--someone else backed out of the deal. If anyone wants it, I might buy it and sell it to you.

I can also get a 2011 model GT starting around $27-28k, or good deals on any other Ford or Chrysler/Jeep product.

I'd have to ask, but they MIGHT even have a leftover '09 model of something that I could buy for a STUPIDLY cheap price. They were advertising 30+ % off, but I don't know if they have anything left.

***This also assumes that I check into things and there's no legal provision against buying vehicles for someone else, but even then, I don't see (a) why anyone would get mad about selling a car--it's not like this is gov't subsidized or anything, or (b) how's there's any way I could be barred from buying a car, then doing whatever the hell I want with it.

Someone to take a gander at my car, before I drive it to colorado.

It probably would be a good idea to replace my timing belt, and I want to know why my clutch has started making a clicking sound.
An oil change would probably be a good idea, too.
