I did. Loveparade is along the street of June 17th (commemorating the fall of the berlin wall), just past the brandenburg gates, the old checkpoint charlie that separates east and west berlin from the soviet era. It is neither on the west nor the east side of berlin, since it is in the middle. Also that particular street where loveparade is is completely surrounded by a park and tiergarten, so there are no major skyscrapers like the ones you see in the picture. The closest buildings are old german buildings built during the nazi era like the Reichshalle and have much different architecture.


that being said, loveparade is still fuckign awesome and i'd go again.

The Toilet in the background deserves a mention. They were having problems with people pissing on the streets so they installed these "self cleaning" toilets all around the city. They're nice. They're from France. They cost a quarter, they open up after a specified period of time to discourage "dating", and after someone has finished they hose themselves down and dry themselves off. Clean and fresh, and good to go. I even think they were paid for by a sign company, so they didn't cost the city anything. Genius ...
