Evans was a big loss for the ACC. A VT win over Alabama would be a big statement for the conference, and that just got significantly more difficult without the talent and experience of Evans returning at RB. I firmly believe VT will be formidable after the first third or so of the season, as they have depth behind him, but will probably miss Evans against that Alabama D.

For what it's worth, I still consider VT as the favorite in the Coastal division. Not that Miami and GT don't have a chance, but VT will be just as strong without Evans by October.

The main questions in the coastal division are:
1) Can Nesbitt stay healthy?
2) Is this the year Miami's talent matures and puts it all together?
3) How consistent will Tyrod Taylor be?

my brother-in-law was the EKU punter from 04-07 and got smacked on a blocked punt early in that game, I think.

^haha yeah I remember at least one blocked punt that game. mario, manny, demario pressley, and john mccargo vs the EKU o-line was one of the most unfair things I think i've ever seen. iirc we were up like 31-0 in the first quarter also didn't EKU punt on 3rd down in one series?
