Just finished watching Derek. It wasn't what I expected but it was great. Funny and touching.

I just watched the boondock saints. Was curious to watch because some people really love it. Reviews for that movie are all over the place (20% on rotten tomatoes 7.8/10 on IMDb). I liked it and would watch again.

It's a good movie. I watched it skeptically because some people are like "omg best movie ever" and I didn't think it was as good as they made it sound. But it was a very good movie imo.

agreed. I wasn't sure at first but I watched the whole series the other night (I have a cool life) in one sitting.

Karl Pilkington is awesome, as expected.

My dad is raving about some movie called Sarah's key. Haven't watched it yet but he said it was in his top three movies of all time so now I'm curious

He likes deep movies though and I like car chases and explosions soooooooo

I'm not too big on the explosions action/adventure flicks & I found Sarah's Key to be tough to stay interested in. It means well, but as it keeps focusing on the effect of the chick's research effecting her family, I just said "ok I get it, let's pick it up"

Boondock Saints is pretty terrible. If that genre is your thing, it's passable, but otherwise it's a bore.

^ 1080p with a higher bitrate than Netflix typically uses. Bitrate = the amount of data for a given interval, typically seconds. Generally speaking, the higher the bit rate of an audio or video stream, the better the quality.

A bunch of people told me how good "End of Watch" was, but I barely made it through it I was so bored.

I'd recommend "Pontypool", a weird, intense lil' movie.

^^ watched Beauty is Embarrassing a few months ago, and I will second it. I will say that I knew who Wayne White was going into it, but I think it's well made and enjoyable even if you're not familiar with his artwork. It does a good job of exposing you to his work as if you've never seen any of it anyhow.

It's a dark kind of comedy, I enjoyed it. It's only 8 episodes in the 1st season so it's not like you'd be putting in a lot of time if you didn't enjoy it.

It's not exactly "The Sopranos...in a cold European country" so I could see how it could get a little slow, but yeah, it's only 8 episodes. I'm looking forward to season 2.

I really enjoyed Robot & Frank, Get the Gringo(didn't think I would but it wasn't bad), and $5 a day.

I'd recommend all three

does Netflix's streaming limitations prevent it from having truly 5.1 HD surround on it's titles?

the BBC version of the inbetweeners is amazing. 4 high school kids getting themselves into various situations in which they are repeatedly humiliated. it's incredibly crude and not exactly the most original idea, i guess, but it's pretty hysterical. and you can knock out both seasons and the movie in an afternoon.

Fireplace for Your Home

2 Episodes

Quote :
" Despite what some other critics have said, this series is NOT a Hollywood Remake. This is the original crackling fireplace we all remember from our living rooms, filmed on location in Washington State. Episode 1 serves an outstanding introduction to the series, showcasing both a crackling fire, and a marvelous fireplace inside someone's home. To the viewer's delight, the fire spreads (Spoiler) to the other two logs in the fireplace! And boy when that happens, the fire really gets going. Things start to smolder a little towards the end of the first episode, but ep 2 lights a whole nother fire. There are some similarities in plot, setting and characters used, but ep 2 has a symphonic yuletide score underlying the entire episode, as well as some stark differences in the burn patterns that appear on the logs. With the strong reviews ths show has been getting, I'm confident Miramax will develop this beloved series into a full length feature (bonfire?), or maybe an NBC reboot with a more modern take on the series (gas fireplace anyone?). Overall a fantastic series that is a pleasure to watch again and again. 5 stars! Yule Luv It! "
