so destiny will be getting micro transactions next week in the form of emotes with the promise of free missions and other content. looks like that will be their business model for this year. makes sense why they didnt offer a season pass now. i think they will only charge like $5-$10 for a raid and give you everything else for free, but that costs will be made up with micro transactions for cosmetics like shaders, emotes, emblems, sparrows, ships, etc. hell i bet destiny 2 will be $30 or less (maybe even free).

games like dota and league of legends are infiltrating console gaming. it will be interesting to see how this will play out in the larger landscape of console gaming if it is received well. the discussed this on the most recent ign podcast, but noticed that console publishers are trying to create a game platform like dota, with micro transactions, but missing the biggest point that the base game is FREE. they even through out the idea that what if COD offered each piece of the game separately, at a discounted price of course. so you could spend $20 on multiplayer, $20 campaign, and $20 on zombies. that way you only have to pay for what you actually want.

So...if I have an icon for those fusion rile turn-ins in the 'Classified' section does that mean I need to collect that specific one? Looks like I'm missing one each on my Warlock and Titan. None are showing up for my hunter, but then I haven't collected any on her yet...so maybe I haven't started?

i got it this morning!



you should only have to collect the fusion cores with one character, but you have to have all of them for the first firewall to come up. i only play as one character so i know i havent collected anything on anything other than a warlock.

once you complete the warsats, all you have to do it finished a special 280 FABER strike.

a lot of people are disappointed but honestly it's still a pretty good heavy - will i use it over my bolt caster/black spindle/tlaloc? nah probably not.

also that quest line was kind of a joke compared to any exotic sword and the black spindle mission

yeah i saw some people on reddit saying that "MIDNIGHT EXIGENT" has something to do with the taken.

i only used it for the daily, but it took those solar shielded wizards at the end basically all the way down in one hit. plus it looks freaking cool so i will probably use it.

I have a trick for getting your second exotic sword with half the effort as the initial sword.

I have the Arc sword on my main character, but wanted to try out the solar sword, so I ran the missions on my second character to unlock the legendary sword quest.

Once you acquire your sword move it through the vault to a character that has already acquired an Exotic sword.

To get the Exotic quest to pop you have to max upgrade the legendary sword (I used mote) then infuse it up to level 280+

If you infuse it past 280 while being held by a character that already did the Exotic sword quest, you will re-acquire the quest on that character by going to speak to Shaxx (there is no prompt).

The since you already ran this quest it lets you skip the requirement for killing 50 majors/ultras and 25 guardians and go straight to ability kills and collecting planetary elements.


1. Complete TTK story on second character
2. Complete Dread Patrol
3. Get legendary sword from Shaxx
4. Move sword to character who already earned exotic sword
5. Level up with motes or xp to max upgrade
6. Infuse past 280
7. Go to Shaxx to get legendary sword.
8. Skip requirement for 25 guardian kills and 50 majors (you already did it for the first sword).
9. Collect 10 elements and 500 ability kills
10. Wait for Armsday
11. Profit.

Also if you do all this by end of night tomorrow you can pick it up on Wed. andavoid having to wait a week for another armsday.


This assumes you pick a different elemental for the first sword. I wonder if you didn't go for a different sword if it would allow you to skip step 8 as well? You would have duplicate 310 attack exotics, but you could infuse one into another weapon to go over 300 on it.

The 500 arc ability kills was way easier than the solar kills if you are choosing between the two on a hunter.

depends on what you want out of it. If you wanna get deep into it and get everything out of it...you better be ready to sink 2-3 hours per day into it at least. Its not exactly a game where you can just play it every so often and get great enjoyment out of it. It really is a grind. Fun if you have the time.

black spindle is nasty as hell in the raid. definitely worth it even at 290 (which honestly isnt that hard to put some upgrades into it) i use it for raid and strikes exclusively

Raided with some LFG guys and made it through the entire deal.

Scored the raid 305 hand cannon, 302 rocket launcher and 310 chest piece and got an exotic engram to drop that cryptarch turned into 310 gauntlets

Also grabbed the final 5 calcified fragments and redeemed for the touch of malice.

Hit level 5 in Iron Banner and bought the pulse rifle.

Finally ran the raid today as well. Took 4 hours and two different groups. Disappointed that I only got the hand cannon and chest, but good to learn the mechanics and it was a lot of fun.

I've watched a sunbreaker take 3 consecutive rockets in pvp, one was from me, and it barely cracked his shields.

I have no problem with them destroying people with hammers, but the ability to live through that is ridiculous.

Good to know.

I suspect the reason they get away with looking like more is the rapid recovery from killing someone with a hammer and getting back to full so quickly.

I'd be curious to see them hit a sunbreaker with a direct rocket right after he kills a player with a hammer.

I would concur on blinks mostly because I die from shotgun immediately before I see them come out the other side of the blink.

Which melees are worth nerfing from hunters/warlocks? The smoke bomb could be better with less damage initial and a post-nerf thorn dot.

I'd like to see it in action before I speculate, I'm glad titans have a more viable pvp spec, but the hammers seem far more powerful than golden gun. Hammerslingers they be.

well, if they can't figure out a way to leave quiver in some form in the game for nightstalkers. I'm glad they removed the unlimited shadowshot for sure, but couldn't they just make it consume 26% of super energy or something and pull a golden gun/hammer style super?

that's not the problem - its cauterize and being able to stand in your own sunspot and constantly regen health that's way higher than it should be.

imho nothing should survive a rocket or a high impact sniper headshot
