The difference is these are instigators/paid protestors going inside rallys to start trouble. It's also worth noting that someone rushed Trump on stage (and was rewarded with air time by the media), as well as someone trying to grab an officer's gun to assassinate Trump (hardly covered by the media). We don't live in France but its also well-known that they have not been welcoming to the integration of muslim immigrants. Their attitude is what has led to large portions of disenfranchised communities being vulnerable to extremism.

that report is pure bullshit. 164 pages bashing the police department, and the only reference to the Mayor's office is fluff claiming that Rawlings-Blake wanted "reform". She was the one telling the BPD to go heavy-handed with zero-tolerance arrests in West Baltimore due to a city council member's relative being murdered, with those police tactics ultimately leading to the arrest of Freddie Gray. They could have at least had the decency to put a page in mentioning the feedback from the mayor's office, the DA's office, and judges in this town that enforce these policing tactics.

The report also tramples all over BPD for poor training and lack of support for officers, but makes no mention of how the city doesn't bother to fund the police department for such activities. Most police in this area work at BPD until they can get a job with one of the adjacent counties that pays a lot better and doesn't treat you like shit.

-I fail to see how the scope of an investigation on the Baltimore Police should really focus on the mayor and their office. The role of the mayor's office undoubtedly would come into play in a 360 review of the criminal justice system, along with the courts and jails. The police seem to be the focus of this report though.

-in all actuality, this type of policing in Baltimore probably goes back to the O'Malley era.

- I think this type of report is a first step in securing federal funds to reform the police department. e.g., tell us where we are wrong, and how to fix it...then give us money to implement the fixes with independent supervision.
