Who really cares about Purvis anymore? I'm actually glad he is taking his game to another team so he can screw them up, not us. Who needs a shooting guard that misses layups, can only hit set jump shots that he has 5 seconds to prepare for, and hits 50% of his free throws??? Good heavens...I'm actually GLAD we are losing that "production".

Yeah, other than Shabazz and Sualimon, last year's top players can't really be called shooters -- Noel, Smart, Poythress, Goodwin, Amile, etc. Heck, even our guys couldn't really shoot.

Exactly. He played his way out of the starting lineup. And when Zo went down he was given a chance to run the point and lost that job to Lewis. It's not like he was buried on the bench and wasn't given a chance. He was given chances and failed to live up to expectations. That said, he was just a freshman and still has plenty of time to improve his game. But right now, Purvis is a player that can only knock down a wife open 3, has trouble finishing around the rim, and can't hit FTs. He's got plenty of room for improvement.

I think it's been mentioned, but i was just reminded that Desmond Lee is from Hampton, Virginia, so hopefully he wants to come back closer to home. He supposedly has offers from Illinois, Baylor, Creighton, Arkansas, Alabama, Dusquene, and Colorado St, and his last scheduled visit was to Creighton yesterday (says rivals).

And if he happened to commit to the team, he'd join Anthony Barber from Virginia and Lewis who was Va's POY last year at Oak Hill.

Yeah Lee has a nice offer list, but he's really only down to 3 and suppose to announce tomorrow. He visited Baylor, NC State, and Creighton.

I'm not sure about the other 2 teams, but we can offer PLENTY of playing time at the 2...since we technically don't have a true 2 on scholarship now, haha.

^^^yeah, Lewis is from Statesville, but that's why i was careful not to say that he was from virginia, just that he won the virginia POY while playing at Oak Hill. He was at Forsyth Country Day before that. Here's a quote from GoPack (sorry, not really recruiting)
