"NEW YORK (AP) - Michelle Rodriguez is getting "Lost" full-time. The 26-year-old actress will join the cast of the stranded-on-an-island drama when production resumes for its second season, ABC announced Monday.

In a flashback scene on the season finale, Rodriguez played Ana-Lucia Cortez, a passenger on doomed Oceanic flight No. 815, who flirted with Jack Shepard, played by Matthew Fox, at an airport bar in Sydney, Australia.

Rodriguez first caught the attention of movie audiences as a boxer in 2000's "Girlfight." She's also starred in "S.W.A.T.,""Resident Evil,""Blue Crush" and "The Fast and the Furious."

ABC didn't specify what Rodriguez's role would be when the show returns, but many "Lost" theorists believe passengers in the back half of the plane, where Cortez said she was sitting, are alive and haven't been discovered.

she better not fuck this up, I can't stand her in movies. She better not play the latin woman with something to prove character in Lost too.

^^that would be pretty cool. leave a cliffhanger for season 2, then for season three, they hook up somehow.

is or isnt?

i dont think the writers would do something like that considering there's already a large number of characters......i think it would become too confusing

People want to talk about doing shit tv doesn't normally do?

Get an entire new cast for season 2. The tail section people are on the other side of the island. They too try to solve the mysteries of the island. Some of the pieces of the puzzle are pieces that the midsection survivors don't have. We the audience learn more about the island. In season 3 they get together. A bunch would have to die off at that point probably, or find some other way to not have 20 main characters.

that would be stupid to have a whole season about a different group of people, becuase it would leave all the questions we have now hanging, and who wants to learn a whole new group of characters anyway?

^^^soaps have like twenty-ish main characters. and i'd like to think the viewers of lost are just as capable tv-watchers as the soap audience.

i didn't think about the whole 2nd season being about the back half.....but after giving it some thought that would be awesome, completely new leaders and sawyers, could be very interesting when they meet....but what about answering some of the crucial questions about what happened to the kid and etc.

We wouldn't learn anything about what happened to walt, but we might learn more about who the people who took him are and what they want.

We might also learn what the hatch goes to, like the tail end people find another hatch or some other clue that lets us know what's down there.

clearly lost represents the Bible

and the folks we know about are the children of Jacob

and the folks on the other side are the children of Ishmael

the folks on the other side right now are trying to rebuild the plane
so they can fly it directly into the caves, in an attempt to kill all the children of jacob

clearly

Nah, it's about the American Civil War. The survivors we know are the North. The people on the other side of the island are the South. That's why piloted their Ironside all the way around the coast to ensalve Walt.

hahahaahhaha man that was a giant furball

i was just thinking this

i believe the island was used for government testing. what they were testing dealt with global warming. i'm assuming they were taking animals that lived in certain types of climates and bringing them into something completely different and see if they could adapt and reproduce. i think the "polar bears" adapted and also mutated (because some species do in order to survive) so they could live on the island.

the hatch was where the government peeps hung out while they observed the animals.

and sorry but last night at the end where the survivors heard the french recording kind of freaked me out (although i am assuming its the crazy french lady)

In Season 3 they meet up and Jeff Probst joins them and says the mid section is team Nanooga and the tail section is team Marwashi. They must compete against each other and the losing team has to vote out one of its members.

And then the millions of LOST viewers that don't watch ALIAS are gonna be pissed off, because everything links back to something they're not familiar with.

Just a horrible, horrible idea.

whhhhhhaaaattt?

i have a question. Walt and the "father figure".....is that his real dad? i heard him mention Walt's mom passed away but i dont understand the connection

Walt's parents split up when he was a toddler, and the mom took Walt to travel with her and her new husband in whatever business he was in. She was a real bitch to Michael (Walt's dad). She was basically like "eff you, we out". Walt and his mom and step-dad ended up in Australia. Michael sent Walt letters and drawings all the time, but Walt never got them till they after they crashed on the island. Walt's mom died, and because of Walt's creepy powers, the step-dad was afraid of him and told Michael to come get him.

yea, when the polar bear was running at them, it sounded like trees were being knocked down - like the monster did before. besides, a polar bear can't knock trees down

also, i'm just pulling this out of my ass, but i don't think polar bears would attack people. it was running to get away, not to attack the survivors

in any case i think the polar bear is a red herring

and since walt's dog survived the crash it's not difficult to believe that the polar bear could have survived too, had it been on the plane

[Edited on June 9, 2005 at 6:45 PM. Reason : but this is my first time watching the season, so i'm probably wrong]

nah its not a spoiler (and i know that for a fact) this is something i thought of last night since polar bears cant live in warm climates and since a lot of people have theorized that the island could have been used for government testing, global warming is an issue and it could have been something the government was looking to fix

the spoilers havent said much about the monster or the hatch.....just mostly about characters and who's coming back next season

plus, i'd never post a spoiler in here.....i know how yall are. there's some user who gets in a huff if you talk about the upcoming scenes for the following week's episode

"How many LOST characters does it take to change a light bulb?

1. None- Jack says to wait for a suitable donor and do a filament transplant.
2. None- you don’t need light bulbs, just get Locke to bang on the hatch.
3. None- just get Jack to pound on the bulb’s chest every time it burns out.
4. Just one, but Sawyer won’t give them the ladder- or the bulb.
5. One- get Shannon to stand on the ladder and wait for everything to revolve around her.
6. One, but it takes a whole season to explain why it went out.
7. Two- Kate to negotiate the bulb from Sawyer and Jack to change it.
8. Three- two to torture it and one to kiss it, only to find out it has no more filaments.
9. Two- Shannon, and whoever she tricks into doing it for her.
10. Two- Boone to change the bulb and Locke to give him the proper motivation.
11. Two, but Jack couldn’t change it in time because he had to save Boone.
12. Two- Locke to send Boone up the ladder, and Boone to fall and break his neck.
13. Two- Charlie to change it and someone else to fix what he messed up.
14. One- just Jack. Everyone else is too helpless to do it.
15. Forty-eight- Jack to change the bulb and everyone else to stand around helplessly and ask him to do it.
16. Two- Jack to change the bulb, and Kate to say she’s coming with him.
17. Two- Walt to conjure up a poorly animated light bulb and someone else to change it.
18. Two- one to change the bulb, and Arzt to make sure they don’t blow up.
19. Four- one to blow up and the other three to carry the new bulbs back.
20. Two- one to change the bulb and the other to go find a light socket and electrical outlet in somebody’s luggage.
21. One- after Sun finds a light bulb tree.
22. One, but they have to wait for Jack and Locke to decide who gets to change it.
23. One- get Claire- she’s good at changing things. "

i paid attention to the black lady talking about how her husband is alive and saying the same thing about no survivors from the midsection.

and locke coming face to face with the monster - kate thought it got him - i guess this is where he makes his 'connection with the island'

I don't think that is episode two. I think episode two is where sayid builts the transmitter and they trek up the mountain to reach a higher point to send a signal but receive the french woman's signal instead. The marshall dies.

So there was some kind of LOST convention earlier this month. The producers revealed some stuff for next season. Some of it was things we already assumed and some of it is somewhat of a spoiler, so I won't post em. But I didn't feel cheated by hearing them. So if anyone wants to know, I can post em or pm you if you want.

hahah sorry

it was the episode where jack takes kate, charlie, and locke into the forest to the spring he found of fresh water and tells them he thinks they should move everyone there instead of bringing water to the beach all the time. half the group sides with jack and goes into the jungle and the other half are still holding onto hope that they will be saved and want to stay at the beach.

also in the plot line: we learn more about the asian couple......how the wife knows english, why her husband attacked Michael, and how she became very close to getting away from the husband
