is there a way to see if we won tickets to the unc game in the 2nd lottery? or is it too late to claim them even if i did? i haven't been able to login for at least 2 days, and the last time i logged in registration for the BC game wasn't open yet, and by now i'm sure that deadline has passed as well.

Claim periods had ended before the system went down, and there aren't any on-demand tickets available so no, the period won't be extended

However, for BC the request period will be extended as soon as they find out when it comes back online

Here's to another fuck-over on a UNC game. It was done once to me for football this year; went to all the games except for one against Carolina because the ticketing system has no need for loyalty rewards. Same shit; I've missed only one home game this year in basketball due to a schedule conflict. ONE. I even went to see us play Guelph for fuck's sake.

Instead of taking my game attendance into account you'll have a bunch of bandwagon fucking morons who won't be loud enough during the game and even UNC fans taking up our student seats.

Let's not mention how much money I've already pumped into this university.

Somebody's getting a nice letter about how you clowns do things over there. This is the most putrid thing you motherfuckers could do to our fans.

As students, what are our options for getting this changed? Can we petition the athletics department to change it back to the old way? There are sooooooooo many errors with this thing, plus it's annoying to plan a week in advance, plus if things come up last minute, you get screwed cause then you can't cancel the day of and have to scramble to give away your ticket

AND the thing that really gets me is i'm beginning to question the randomness of the seating. I have set in the same two sections (113 and 111) in almost the same rows for EVERY game now. (oh, except for the 2 times i've had the 300-somethings.) this is beginning to get a little odd to me. It's especially annoying when last year I would just show up way early for all the games they gave tickets out at the RBC center for and would request courtside. Same even with when we had the lottery, i would just always make sure i got there as soon as i could to the start and always got great seats.

there just never seemed to be much wrong with the old way and i think a lot of students would like it back. Just tell me what to do and i'll do it. I'll go to lee fowler's office if i have to. i mean, it'd be less stress for you, less for adam whitehouse, cause he has to get hundreds of emails too.

PLEASE GO BACK TO THE OLD WAY WHEN THE CONTRACT RUNS OUT

i like the system for the most part.

these maintenance periods are regretful, and i wish priority were given to those students who've gone too all of the games. other than that its definitely a better way to handle the process.

i think the two most important things to address are:

1. System stability
2. Ticket Distribution

#1 is obvious

#2 -- I think that it would be much better if the best tickets got assigned first. It seems to me that the way the system works now is as follows:
X number of users register for tickets before the deadline. After the deadline, in some order (possibly random) each group/person that won tickets are assigned a random ticket (or group of tickets). This could be section 300 or section 105, it's random.

I think an equally fair method of distribution would be to start out with the best seats, and then randomly assign the tickets to the winning groups/individuals until no more winners remain. Then the remaining tickets go to on demand. So this way if we assume there are ~1000 student seats available and only 600 students registered for tickets, the "best" 600 seats would be filled by students. I'm tired of seeing empty sideline rows while students are sitting up on the 300 level.

There are plenty of other issues that need to be fixed too, but these are the first two that I think of right away.

I think it's funny that football distribution didn't have anywhere near this many problems. It worked perfectly. Yes, there were a few hardware problems in the beginning but other than that it was fine. What is the overall demand per game for football compared to basketball?

I agree about the fair weather fans. They should get tickets as a last resort to fill up the RBC center only if there are seats left over after everyone else gets tickets. Those loyal fans who have been to nearly all games should get priority and the best seats. I would love to see how many people got tickets to the carolina game and have not even been to any others.

Im just glad my parents are Wolfpack Club members and I can go to every game even when not in the student section. Ill be with them for our two biggest games against UNC and BC.
