I would demo Spider-Man 3 before I buy. Dead Rising, yeah, great game. Spider-Man 3 got some mediocre reviews. Also, get Microsoft points when you get your 360. Trust me on that one. So my suggestion would be get Dead Rising and Microsoft points.

i downloaded the spring update and now my xbox is a brick. get the 3 red lights every time i try to turn it on.

fucking customer service reps are telling me that it is a hardware failure unrelated to the update. they seem to think that my system just randomly decided to fail, coincidently after downloading their spring update. it's funny that they come to this conclusion, considering that my xbox is no longer under warranty and they don't have to support it if it's not caused by the update. what a crock of shit.

yeah. they also told me i am the only person experiencing this problem, which is also bullshit.

after calling 3 times they now claim that i'll get a call from a supervisor within 3 days or so with an explanation of what caused my xbox to fail. i'm fully expecting them to give me some more bullshit about how it's a hardware failure entirely unrelated to the update that i downloaded just before these problems started happening. shit like this just pisses me off to no end.

Damn, that's unfortunate. A lot of ppl were complaining about their systems being bricked after Guitar Hero II came out with the download to fix the whammy bar. Now, the spring update? Man, MS got some issues with their hardware. Straight up capitalism if you ask me.

i got the 3 red lights last night...i was like "oh fuck is this the circle of doom?" but i cut the 360 off and cut it back on and it seemed to be fine...also got that double dragon

same as the arcade...kind of short but good fun...beat it the first time through on 2 player co-op...and its "only" 400 points so i quickly snatched it up

a few notes on a few games on some random shit

Call of Duty 3: rented this like a month ago and been sleeping on it...good fun...played some last night..."POTATO MASHAH!!"

Boom Boom Rocket: some XBLA game kind of like dance dance revolution or the hollywood swinging parts of GTA:SA...kind of cool but i wouldnt buy it

Catan: some XBLA game...started a game and quit before I knew wtf was going on...somebody explain if they want

Centipede & Millipede: pretty good version of the classic arcade games although its not my favorite so i wouldnt buy

3D Ultra Minigolf: XBLA game...has some potential...could be fun

Heavy Weapon: I got this game months ago and wanted to recommend it if you didnt have it

yeah last night after i got the lights i let it sit awhile and then it worked again, but after like an hour of playing it froze up and then got the red lights every time i tried to turn it on.

got my 360 yesterday and so far, it's like McDonald's up in this bitch, I'M LOVIN' IT.

they didn't have Dead Rising at the store I was at, but I got Gears instead and it's pretty solid.

I got Spiderman 3 and if you like games like this (GTA with puzzles and fighting), then I totally recommend it. It's a great game and greatly improves on the last 2 in the series, which is saying something. Great game.

^haven't gotten to connecting my 360 to the intraweb yet. I'm gonna have to buy a wireless dealie to get that working.

besides, the only Live game I have is Gears, and I'm not that good so far. I would get slaughtered in multiplayer at this point. I can't wait for Madden 08 to come out, then I'll be all up in the Live Nation.

Yeah, from experience, you can play after you get the initial red lights only a matter of days. Go ahead and send it off and get it over with. Got mine back this this week and it's working great.

How much do they charge to fix them?

Mine will need to be sent back soon, I don't have any red lights, but it keeps giving me this screen telling me to "put the disc in an xbox 360 console to run it" and I'm like "this is an xbox 360 you piece of shit." Then after I eject in and put it back in a few times it will finally start up.

Some games are worse than others, and a few games (such as Gears of War) if I can ever get it started they will only play for 15 minutes before giving me a dirty disc error (the disc is not dirty).

They charge around $130 to fix it, plus you have to ship the system yourself (For me, it was about $20 @ USPS b/c I bought a shipping box and bubble wrap. I didn't want to take any chances). Grand total = $150 for me.

Ever since I got my system back, the 360 has been good. It justs takes a little longer to start up. It works great now.
