nice...i'm waaaaay over the 30 hour mark on my game...i plan on starting a new game at some point and doing no side missions, skipping all cutscenes, turning off my cellphone (or whatever) skipping all taxi rides, no mission retries (instead load), etc to get that one eventually

^^^ Shit that reminded me, i did the same thing and havent went back to try it yet. I tried it one way for the $$ and failed and did it the "good" way saving it under a different slot after.

I also saved before Three leaf Clover. That mission is a ball to do over and over again.

how does this game, and games period in particular really stand out in HD? ok so i just got this and dont want to sort through 40 pages

driving controls or controls in general? driving definitely takes awhile to get used to but i have the most success just not flooring it all the time

it burns me up to hear people bitch about controls. like you already said, you just got done playing another game. it doesn't matter which game you got done playing, it's tough to change those coordination/motor skills that you've trained on another game, especially one so similar in scope (third person sandbox). give it a week or two, and if you still hate it, then i could understand you hating it.

The cars in GTA4 feel a lot heavier than ones in previous GTA games. I don't mind though, it gives them more realistic handling.

The driving controls work pretty intuitively for me.

The thing is, I can go from Halo to Mass Effect to Assassin's Creed to Forza in a day and not even notice the controls after five minutes of play. With GTA I'm constantly frustrated by them.

I think it has a lot to do with the way they handle the camera angle/right joystick. First, it automatically snaps forward-- that's incredibly annoying when I'm trying to look where I'm turning. Second, you can't steer left or right by turning the camera. This is something that every third-person game I've ever played allows you to do. It forces you to steer entirely with your left thumb, which is dumb.

The only thing that bothers me about driving is the right stick. I hadn't played in a month or so but picked it up and hopped in a car and it was like riding a bike once I made a few turns.

See everyone hates the right stick, I love it. I like being able to look left if I am turning left and have the camera snap back once I'm done. I love when I am backing up and turning that I can spin the camera all around in order to do it quickly. I love that.

can you still join brucie's street races after you've completed the game? i've tried calling him for a while now to join, but he always says there's nothing going. i'm trying to get his like% up, i think it's around low 70s right now, maybe that's got something to do with it.
