Need to sleep... still not tired... woke up at 2pm... so i might just stay up all night... but i have work to do tomorrow...

and my parents keep trying to drag me to church while i'm home for the summer, which takes up the whole fucking morning anyway, and that's time that would be much better used for sleeping.

^I feel your pain...whenever I go home I have to go to church(which I enjoy), but mainly b/c I enjoy seeing all the folks(lots of old folks) that I haven't seen in a while and I really enjoy catching up, but I feel you when you don't have anything to say and you're just going because you feel obligated

Hey, anybody have experience with that "wall texture in a can" bullshit?

Some hot shot thought that texturing the walls in the kitchen and bathrooms would be a great idea, so right now I'm trying to figure out how to sort of recreate that in the area where the TP dispensers were... As is it's going to look amazingly fugly, but at least now it'll be the right color.

Fuck the guy we got to paint this place too. If I'm not hanging out with family tomorrow I'll probably be on my hands and knees with a flat instrument scraping paint off linoleum, countertops, the bathtub, etc.

I'm not sre about which are you are trying to paint but usually if you ask the leaser they will tell you which 'color'/'pattern is the original and you can get it to repaint...

Every now and then I'll gladly go (once a month or so, maybe), mostly to catch up with people I know, particularly some of the ones I knew back in high school... but every fucking week is overkill, yet somehow it's become the sunday morning standard procedure with my parents.

I know the color, I picked it out. We own the place, like I mentioned. The wall actually has texturing on it, sort of like you'd find on a ceiling only it's in these flat blobby bits that look like ass.

Like that but a little bit lighter than that. They make patch products in a can that you can use to repair/replace stuff like that. If I don't match this I'll have two funny shaped smooth bumps on my wall. I want funny shaped textured bumps on my wall instead, so it at least matches a little better. The damage to the drywall from their shoddy work installing the TP dispenser is outrageous. Where there should be two small holes are two 2" by 2" areas that look all fucked up.

^Oh yea, my parents are all involved in several church goings on, womens/mens groups/community breakfasts, which are all great, and I enjoy....I just don't enjoy enjoy the continual sunday morning worship...esp when my day sleeps during the majority of it

it a good exercise, but I get more out of talking with the people and knowing that they appreciate me and vice versa than just showing up and presenting a certain image

The most annoying part of it (for me) is that I'm not really even Christian except by the absolute beyond-loosest definitions of the word (belief in but not worship of a hands-off God who is generally "good" and forgiving, or who at the very least is indifferent to the supposed moral value our actions). Deist is probably a better term for that.

I just haven't told my parents that (for some obvious reasons and other not-so-obvious ones)... and even if I did, and even if they were okay with it, I don't see that stopping them from waking me up in the morning trying to drag me to worship services.

^I hear you on many points, I don't tell my parents how I feel b/c I know they would try and convince me to appreciate a certain way(which is a good thing b/c they don't try to pressure me into a certain viewpoint). My dad would try and get me to understand that a conservative view of things is the way to go, but my mom appreciates that I try to understand different viewpoints, but she is still a social conservative...

It's hard to explain it to them sometimes b/c they really do try to understand my point of view but I know they want me to see their way, but I see their way as dated, but understandable, which is understandable, its not a rebelious thing, but more of a progression, which is difficult, b/c I want to carry on tradition all the while growing and progressing

Passed out in the kitchen last night. Got up from the couch too quickly and ran into the kitchen for a fresh from the oven brownie, get to counter and notice I'm kinda dizzy, next thing I know I'm waking up on the floor with my wife hitting me on the chest. Kinda creepy.
