watch the Haviv Rettig Gur lectures and the Middle East Dialogue series. there's a new set of interviews starting in a few weeks. i am sure there will be much to say about gaza in them.

Not to mention, hundreds of roads, homes, shops, water plants, electric plants, and other services completely demolished by their bulldozers.

Heck, even Genocide Joe put sanctions on some genocidal settlers for killing Palestinians, but Trump lifted them within hours of assuming office.

Why would Trump broker the ceasefire in Gaza? Because he is a man of peace? No, because he is a bigger genocider than Satanyahu: he made sure the eyes of the world will be on Gaza for weeks to come so that Israel can repeat the same in the West Bank and no one would notice, or if they do, no one would care because genocide and ethnic cleansing have been normalized in Western circles for over a year now.

I think anyone who's met Israelis knows that they're often pretty radicalized hardliners, it's not just the characterization of "western people" and "Muslims" people get from projecting their experience with American Jews.

You can't really blame them, nor can you the Palestinians. But the Palestinians (I assume the guy you've sent above is an example, but I didn't watch it) tend to produce more of the "good professor" types, cause they're 'at mercy', or the weaker side, than the Israelis.

Americans are afforded the most space in the world to be 'good' people in that sense... don't really need to worry about our imminent safety, can be open minded, 'progressive' (not just in the liberal way). Even when we do have 'fear' which inspires terrible action (which we've done a lot of), we're so distant from it, that we don't develop that inherent hate that forces us to be seen a certain way. We're never scarred as nation by what we do, and so we're generally just 'better' (don't take me saying that as in saying we're literally better). It's why people either want to come here or resent us for it. Can't blame them for either. Look at Iran, even Iranians don't hate Americans on an individual level, they really don't, some just hate the government. And sure, people like to say that about many conflicts in the world, but it just isn't true, if not hate, there is some distance. We have the most luxury of any people in the world to be free of mind, to be free of hate, or contamination of the mind. No one likes hating something. It takes up space in your brain. One could argue that the EU changed things for Europe, but they still don't have that thing we have. You can't change tensions that fast.
