Various deal sites are reporting that the next "big day" will be this Sunday, December 31st. Most Best Buys and Walmarts are holding their shipments for sale that day. Best Buy will hand out tickets 1 hour before opening (like they have in the past). I'm not sure about Circuit City and other retailers.

My dad just gave me one of his old laptop bags and it works perfectly for my Wii, there are tons of pockets for controllers/batteries/games and lots of space for gamecube stuff too.

^^Dude, it's not a science. Figure it out like everyone else did. If you want one bad enough there's no such thing as showing up too early. Go the night before and see if there's a line. If not, show up 5 hours early and see if there's a line. If, not show up 4 hours early and see....

Everyone could guess for you, but as has been proven many times in this thread, no one knows anything for sure. I've heard stories of people showing up 10 minutes before the store opens and getting one, and stories of people waiting for hours and just missing out. If anyone knew how to get one easily then it wouldn't be so hard now would it?

I just showed up two hours early and got in line. We didn't know how many wii's they were getting at the time but I took a chance and stayed in line. I ended up being 14th (i think) and they gave out a total of 42 wiis.

Hell, I skipped Best Buy today because everything online indicated they wouldn't have any until Sunday...called them on a whim and they had four left from a shipment of 20 today (by the time I got there 10 minutes later, mine was the last one).

Props to Nintendo's packaging, though. Survived a car crash and works perfectly.

Yeah I'm pretty impressed so far. If they can flesh out just a few more things like giving an update to the weather channel, adding more features for making miis, and revamping their online friend/wii code system, Nintendo will be set.

anyone have any idea when we'll be able to order the Wii online from Best Buy? it still says they are not available during it's "initial release," and it's been over a month now. ^Best Buy gets shipments everyday, but only two "trucks" (i.e. from Best Buy warehouses) a week. 360's last year dropped random days during the week, so don't expect Wii's to be available only on truck nights.

Circuit City gets shipments everyday. Wiis (and PS3s) come in via UPS not the circuit city truck.

I saw about 10 at BB in cary, 4 at BB in garner, a couple at target in cary, a few at target in garner...all this morning.

From what I saw, there were a lot more Wii's available compared to PS3

downloading updates whipee. so i guess there's no mac filtering support ? I had my wireless to only allow certain mac adresses and it wouldnt connect, I changed to a passworded security and it worked fine. if anyone is having similar problems
