I had to replay this mission a half dozen times before I could get those guys down. Motorcycle chase missions always piss me off.

It was one of the few missions I had to replay more than once.

i havent touched this game in a month. But not because i dont enjoy it. It's just the way i've always been with GTA games. I'll play steady for several weeks, then drop it for weeks even months (over a year for SA) at a time. I figure i'll pick it up again in a week or so.

i jumped on yesterday for a bit and finished the last 4-5 text message cars to steal...thankfully the last one was an Infernus because somehow the Infernus I got from that fag on an earlier mission had mysteriously vanished from my parking spot! So I took the Infernus that Stevie wanted me to steal, took it to one of my safehouses, saved the game, then went back to the original spot and stole a different Infernus which I dropped off...now the plan is to drive around with the Infernus at my savehouse until I see another one (since driving a vehicle causes that vehicle type to spawn around the city) and then I'll have 2

as far as i can tell, yes

the ferraris (or whatever they're called) are simple to get since theres a dealership right by your manhattan crib...i tend to see porsches and vipers around occasionally also...but aside from the one reward you get where the queer tells you where to find the infernus in that alley, i dont recall seeing any others!

i dont think i've captured enough criminals in the police computer to get the annihilator...i've parked one of the heli tour choppers at my place before but it just seems like its too much trouble to take your time landing and taking off where you dont hit trees or light posts and have your rotors get sheared off...i usually just take a cab to the heli tour spot...once you unlock the annihilator where does it spawn?

^^I didn't get my annihilator from that mission. I went to the airport and stole it. You get 4 stars so I had to save the games after I landed the helicopter in front of my safehouse. When you wake up it'll still be there and you'll have no stars.

I'm pretty sure there is a limit to how many cars you can fit in a garage or in a parking spot

I know in the other GTA games, each garage would usually have a limit of 2, 3 or 4 depending on the size of the garage

more than that then vehicles would start to disappear

So just got an HDTV (1080p) to go with my PS3, and now GTA IV is stuttering (video and sound, including in the loading screens). Didn't have the same issue when it was being output through standard composite. I don't have the same issue with any other games or videos or even when playing something like a CD at the PS3 menu (which I've confirmed is outputting at 1080p). Could it be that GTA is running at a higher resolution than it's designed for, or could the HDMI cable I have not be able to handle the amount of data being transmitted? Anyone else experienced the same issues?

Yeah, I don't have a next gen console either. Is this any good on the PC? I understand there are technical problems, but a lot of the posts complaining about performance on several forums out there read like they were written by 12 year olds that just learned the word "optimization" that feel the need to keep saying it over and over again.

What I've gathered:
Sounds as if there is a 30fps cap.
You'll need a quad code processor to even get this to play on medium.
The processor is more of a limiting factor than the gfx card (for most PC gamers).
You'll be lucky to get 15-20fps will the lowest settings if you only have a dual core.

I had Vice City and San Andreas on Xbox as well as PC, the car-mods and extras were enough to persuade me to get it for PC when I already owned another format. Not sure if the same type of addons exist for GTA IV but I assume they will one day if they do not already.

^^Nvidia just released a beta driver 180.84 that specifically addresses GTA4. But yeah i have everything on medium with a dual core, and i'm playing at 15-25 FPS the whole time. Kind of annoying, but Rockstargames is supposed to release a patch within a couple of days that boosts performance:

Nice to hear they are actually planning on releasing patches for this one. I'm pretty sure the only reason San Andreas had a patch was because of some sort of legal threat b/c of the hot coffee mod.

Anyone managed to steal a police helicopter?

I was just playing around without saving, using cheats, spawning the annihilator, sniping from rooftops, ect... standard GTA dickery... and I sniped the pilot out of a police helicopter, causing it to land. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to fly my annihilator back down to the ground before something blew it up... and then my roommate came back and actually wanted to play his game, so I didn't get to try again.
