Airwick, Glade, drugstore goodies, Lysol, pet treats, rice, etc. I was just wondering if I have something you guys want. I personally like having Fhqwhgads hosting since she lives 2 streets down from me I can wheelbarrow my stuff.

I am not sure if you people have looked into it, but the Rite Aid program "Up" rewards are phenomenal. Head over to southern savers and look at what people are doing. I mean I got a great deal on diapers, but there is some good stuff to leave the store with them paying you...... 7/7/2010 7:27:45 PM |
Fhqwhgads Fuckwads SS '15 20681 Posts user info edit post |
Yeah the "Up" rewards at Rite Aid work pretty much just like ExtraCare bucks at CVS. You buy something that is advertised as giving an "Up" reward and the reward is printed on the bottom of your receipt as a coupon for $$ of your next purchase.
Big difference between ExtraCare Bucks and Up Rewards though...ExtraCare Buck deals have limits...Up Rewards do not (at least not yet).
Here's what I've done at Rite Aid w/ the new Up Rewards program:
Crest Whitestrips were $22.99 the other week and giving a $10 Up reward. So I paired that with the $10 manufacturer's coupon from the other week's paper and got it for $2.99
Venus razors were $5.99 the other week and giving a $2 Up reward and a $2 Single Check Rebate. Combine that with the $2 manufacturer's coupon and got them free.

Free batteries at Target via slickdeals.
Free Alkaline RAYOVAC AA & AAA batteries at Target AC Did this at 2 different Targets the last few days. Noticed that Target had the AA & AAA Alkaline batteries (2 packs) in the $1 bins again - have only seen Heavy Duty ones for months now. Used the Rayovac $1 off coupon here [rayovac.com] (to get the coupon click on the right side - you must be hooked up to a real printer unless you guys can create/post a PDF somehow). Suggest you pick up something else (I bought a clearance T-shirt for $2-3 that I'll probably return) so it's not so obvious that you are getting it free (tax is charged). The batteries I bought the other day rang up @ $1 (free AC) but today they were marked down to 50 cents - the coupon only deducted the 50 cents today (rather than $1) still making it free.
Also link above has a $3 off coupon for RAYOVAC platinum rechargeable batteries.
Good luck. 7/8/2010 9:33:30 AM |

FREE DESSERT TOPPERS AT KROGER EVEN W/O COUPONS
There is a catalina deal going on at Kroger for Dessert Toppers. Buy any 1 Dr. Pepper or A&W Dessert Toppers and get a $2.50 catalina good off your next order.
These are priced at $2.39 at the Kroger on Creedmoor and Strickland.
So even w/o using any coupons, you get them free after the catalina.
If you want to turn this into more of a moneymaker, you can use the $.55 coupon from the Sunday paper. And if you want more of a moneymaker, go to cellfire.com and load an electronic coupon onto your Kroger card for $.75 off one Dessert Topper.
Here is what I did last night: 1 Dr. Pepper Dessert Topper $2.39 -$.75 electronic coupon =$1.64 -$.55 coupon =$1.09 out of pocket
and received a $2.50 catalina

My coworker just brought me the P&G insert and one of the Redplum inserts that are supposed to be in Sunday's paper. She said they came with the grocery store ads yesterday in the mail.

That gives you a preview list of the coupon's in today's paper
In the Raleigh area, I can already tell by quickly glancing at that list, we got the same coupons but some are for a different value. Like they list Skippy as $.75 off 2 but we got a $.60 off 1 in our paper. Which by the way is on sale at Harris Teeter BOGO free, so with the $.60 coupon doubled, it is $.20 for Skippy peanut butter. 8/1/2010 11:11:08 AM |

I can tell you this story is bullshit already. Why? because nothing costs 9 cents in order for the total with tax to be 10 cents.
The second story is bullshit as well. Why? Because manufacturers don't give out coupons for more than the product costs. If they COULD do that, more people would make a bogus/redundant product under a different label, put it on the store shelves and make their own $10 off coupons for products that cost $5 and rob the grocery store blind. The only way this guy would be able to do this is by employee error.8/3/2010 8:43:54 PM |

^ completely not true....
I have walked out many of times with my total bill under a dollar for 40-75 worth of groceries.
1) Stores double or triple manufacturer's coupons up to the value...
ex. Minute Rice is 1.99 you have a coupon for .75 cents. During triples it will be 1.99 off in most stores or 2.25 in some and you can roll the overage.
Couple this with the catelina that are like 10 dollars off your whole order and you can get a lot for a little.
2) Stores combine sales. If your Hebrew Nationals are 2 for 5 dollars and they have $1 off peelies on them. I can still use the 75 cents off of one. (it will double at HT and it will be free after both) The yellow peelie always goes to overage if the coupon is covered.
3) Wine tags will always go to overage also. Example....$1 off of chicken. It is super double and it is 2 dollars off. I buy canned chicken with a coupon. The chicken ends up being .50 cents and the other 1.50 comes off the tab.....
There are tons of ways to do this. The number one rule is to only buy the sales and stockpile. I have several bags of rice, pasta, cereal, and canned veggies that were free. I have 3 packages of chicken and 6 pounds of bacon in the freezer which was free. If you only buy the deals, having a sub 1-5 dollar bill is the norm.
Here is a site to get you started. http://www.southernsavers.com/2010/07/1-or-less-grocery-deals-729/
Here are this week's deals. She posts them every week. I know I usually save in the order of 80% off of my order.
-Misha....that would be awesome. With TWW's help I have gotten 800 diapers and 8 packs of wipes for $47.56.

EPIC KELLOGG'S DEAL AT HARRIS TEETER THIS WEEK
All Kellogg's cereal at Harris Teeter are 50% off this week. Poptarts and Nutrigrain bars are also 50% off.
PLUS there is a catalina deal going on where if you buy 10 Kellogg's products, you get a $10 catalina.
Here is what I did this morning:
6 boxes of Poptarts: $2.19. On sale $1.09 (50% off). $1.09*6= $6.54 3 boxes Corn Flakes $2.99. On sale $1.50 (50% off). $1.50*3= $4.50 1 Box Nutrigrain Bars $3.55. On sale $1.78 (50% off). $1.78
$12.82 before coupons
I used 3 of the $1/2 Poptart coupons, one $1.25/3 Kellogg's cereal coupons and one of the $.75/1 Nutrigrain bar coupons.
After coupons, I spent $7.07 and got a $10 catalina
Even if you don't have any coupons, this is still a pretty good deal b/c of the $10 catalina.
I'm gonna go back at lunch. The nutrigrain bars are the best things to buy w/ this deal so I'm gonna go and stock up

So I tried to do the e-vic diapers this week with a 2.50 coupon. My e-vic didn't discount didn't come off.....
Vic special was 8.99 (from 10.99) It was suppose to be 6.97... less my coupon of 2.50
I went to customer service expecting them to refund the difference. Since my receipt showed that I was an e-vic customer with the deal, they considered a misring and refunded 10.99 + tax.......This was the first time I actually tried to give them money back, but they said that is how it works.....I made 4.50 + tax and got free diapers...... ^

Reading comprehension 101:
The subject is about getting $100 worth of groceries for $0 or getting paid to take home groceries.
As you can see, the most you've ever saved was 80% even though you know all the tricks.
I am a Jew and I know I can get 80% and even 90% off items daily. Not $100 worth of groceries for free.
See the difference? It's italicized and bold.
Slam!

Back when this thread was first created, grocery stores used to give you overages on items. Like if you had a $.75 coupon for Colgate and it was priced at $1, at Harris Teeter back in the day (2-3 years ago), they used to double it up to the full amount ($1.50). So you would get the toothpaste for free plus a $.50 overage towards your other groceries.
Harris Teeter has since stopped giving overage and now only doubles up the amount of the product. So if you have a $.75 coupon for Colgate and its priced at $1, Harris Teeter will take your $.75 coupon and then double it to the price of the item. So it would show on your receipt as a $.75 coupon plus a doubled value of $.25.
So yes, back in the day, it was completely possible to walk out of a grocery store and have $100 worth of groceries and only pay $.10 8/6/2010 1:39:19 PM |
