Debating on getting the LED dome light for my Honda. I don't want it to be TOO bright and obnoxious, but more like the new Acuras. Anyone have one?? I've always bought the standard yellowish tinted bulbs.

^sorry but that beats me.

Purchased a GoPro mount that screws into my front bumper's tow hook location. Looking forward to installing it for a day or so and taking some "test footage" before hitting the track next month

I have a suction cup mount, and I will probably mount it on the side quarter window for a few track sessions. But you can't really mount the suction cut that low on the front of the car. So this mount was a (fairly) cheap addition for $48, and its advantages are that it is a more rigid attachment (less shake) and there's no chance in hell of it falling off.

Washed the s2k for the first time in ages.

Chips galore on the front Noticed a strange swirl on the back bumper...trying to figure out how that happened.

Didn't have time to zaino, though

Where is it located on the S2000? I replaced mine last year on the Integra. Was a dirty process (of course what isn't on a 21 year old car?) but not terribly difficult.

Should be easier than an Integra

Speaking of the Integra, this morning my oil pressure lamp on the dashboard started blinking and occasionally just stayed lit. I pulled over at the next gas station and checked the oil level - it was full. The engine was running fine - not rough, no additional noise and wasn't running warmer than usual. Either way I decided it would be best to drive it home and figure it out later. However on the way home I did one quick 2nd gear VTEC pull, since VTEC will not function without normal good oil pressure. And VTEC operated just as it should. So this makes me think it's not an oil pressure issue.

A quick google search suggests my problem is a bad oil pressure sending unit. Does this sound likely? Doesn't look like it's that difficult (or expensive) of a fix.

We'll see - it's not impossible with my 12 year old girl arms, but it sure as hell won't be pleasant.

That looks as bad in 2003 as it will in 2013. Why oh why would anyone paint a car maroon?

putting my 95 Town Car back on the road after about 4 years. Got some used tires today, now comes the fun of cleaning up the fuel system and cleaning the car up in general.

finally bought one, trying to decide what to do for head unit. factory head unit has all access to amp and equalizer as well as wheel controls, it just lacks nav. thinking about using a tablet as a hardwired input and then tethering my phone for connectivity

yep, down to one street legal vehicle besides the RV
decided to give an e90 m3 a shot for a while. Great, albeit nervous, street car minus the 22mpg highway. Test drove the LS1 FD and as well built as that car was, it just wasn't tolerable for a 30mi 1-way commute - tiny condenser or terrible AC, lots of road noise to the point where a good stereo wouldn't help, non-adjustable 12kg suspension. Also, the ls1 is a total turd under 3.5k rpm. I applaud its efficiency, but it's really not all it's cracked up to be

I don't have any 4 wheel track experience but I have a good idea of what translates and what doesn't. I'm worried about things that honestly seem like they may be eliminated by all the computer stuff in the car. I've never had a vehicle with driver aid before (TC and ABS computer broke on the 540i and I never fixed it)

congrats.

and yeah I hate all these stupid computer controlled things. Ironic that you would buy a sports car that has tons of that shit Are you gonna track the M3?

Tough about that LS1 FD, but I suppose you could have changed a few things around to help you out (softer suspension, interior sound insulation). As a DD it blows the M3 away in fuel efficiency, and fuel efficiency is a big part of what makes a car a good DD.

As to AC systems in small sports cars, they suck in general. They don't have a large space to condition and as car makers generally try (try poorly) to keep vehicle weight down they probably use a small unit because it is lighter. In hot weather it takes a while for my (brand new) BRZ to cool things down to what's comfortable for me. It was the same way with my S2000. Comes with the territory I guess, but if the alternative was a 10-20lb heavier AC system I'd decline it anyway.

yeah, I intend to track the m3 3-4x/year in the off season. the fd didn't even get cold, it just got to where it was maybe 10* colder than outside but no more. there was just too much work and far too little resale possibility for me to take that car, especially now that I don't have access to my garage.

Yeah sounds like it. And if the AC was that crappy something in the system definitely needed to be replaced. That's not normal.

Switched tops for summer, made a hard top hoist/ storage setup in the garage so we have a place for it.

The new soft tops are like 100 times easier to switch over.

new tires
and I retrofitted a nav system of my own

to do a normal aftermarket double din that didn't look like shit and wasn't in the way of the shifter was going to cost me $800 + shipping for just the surround and another $400 for the head unit and another $100 to relocate the factory unit to the truck so everything works right because all the stuff in the car is connected via fiber instead of copper

I bought that car specifically without iDrive...

Even after the update I didn't find the system very user friendly. And sooner or later all nav-type units look out of date.

Nicely done with the tablet.
