His father sounds like a real gem. In no circumstance should a child with D1 aspirations be forced to sit by his mom's death bed in a hospice. Somebody else, probably even his mother, should have stepped up to help out.

I thought it was pretty mature of the oldest to reference Greg Little's apparently devoted father and come to the the realization that he made a huge mistake by thinking he didn't need any help or guidance (parenting). Looking at the success of a peer who had strong parental support and then looking at your own broken dreams and reflecting on how you never had a stable home and your parents basically abandoned you... That's a heartbreaking comparison for a person to make at any age.

Probably could have used a better example than Greg Little...although he is in the NFL right now. That guy was a fucking mess at UNC...involved in bad behavior on and off the field and pretty much made it because he's got amazing god-given athletic ability.

welcome to 'Merica. Most people thinking that they have worked hard have actually just maintained the same status as their parents. Now, coming from a broken home to having a stable life with a solid income, that is actually hard work.
