Dammit Norv couldn't Philip have thrown for at least one TD???
And I played LT, Moss, Brady, Packers D and Matt fucking Stover. I got killed.
I went from 3-0 to 3-3 quick.

Question for yahoo users:
If you pickup a player on game day then drop that player, does that player not go on waivers? Dude was able to immediately pickup a guy I picked up and dropped.
The internet says he goes on free agents if you drop him the same day you add him.

Wayne by far. He is the number one receiver on a great passing team. I wouldn't give you Wayne for Jones, though, but if you can get it, nice work. Also, with Harrison going down, he'll be even more involved if that injury lingers.
I'm feeling pretty good, 6-0 at this point. I get a guy who is one game behind me at 5-1 this week, but he has LT, and LT has a bye. 10/15/2007 11:24:29 AM |

Romo and Palmer are my QBs, but my two starting RBs were Maroney and Stephen Jackson.
So I'm in desperate need of RB help.
A guy in my league has Tomlinson, Adrian Peterson and Willie Parker with Brees and Eli as his QBs.
What do you think of trading either Romo or Carson Palmer for either Peterson or Parker?
Which one should I trade? Is it even worth it? Etc. 10/15/2007 1:52:28 PM |

Here's a trade...
I trade Fitzgerald for Moss. Would you do it if you have already pretty much secured a spot in the fantasy playoffs?
Ive all but sealed the deal to make it to the three-game-playoff in my league... Moss is obviously the better player this year, but with the Patriots running away with their division, they might start sitting guys late in the year once they have secured home field advantage. So Moss might not be much help in a fantasy playoff that goes from the 13th-16th week of the season. Fitzgerald and the Cardinals will probably still be fighting for their playoff lives at that point in the season, making Fitzgerald a more viable fantasy playoff WR. But what do I know? What do yall think? 10/15/2007 1:52:49 PM |

^^^ You absolutely have to take Moss if you are only giving up Fitz, especially given that it looks like Warner will be out for an extended period of time.
^^ As for the TE question, with McNair's naggin injuries and Boller's inept QB play combined Heap's inability to stay in the starting lineup, you have to go with Olsen. Even more now that Griese is looking like he could actually be a serviceable option at QB.

^The Rams are three games back, and what makes you think that they are going to turn it around? They are HORRIBLE. I mean, I understand Jackson coming back will somewhat help, but man, I have no faith in the Rams being able to block for Bulger or Gus, much less for them being able to make holes for SJ. 10/16/2007 9:38:08 AM |

I disagree about picking up Moss for the fantasy playoffs now that ive thought about it. Who knows how much he'll be playing the last three games of the year, as the Patriots rest their studs for the playoffs. Like the Colts did two years ago, after they lost that game to end their undefeated run, they starting sitting Peyton, Marvin, and edge. 10/16/2007 10:45:17 AM |

So is Vince Young about to start to catch the Madden Curse with his injury? Hopefully not. 10/16/2007 10:50:47 AM |
Panthro All American 7333 Posts user info edit post |
^ I hope not, though the only league I have him in is one that I have essentially locked down a last place finish due to some shitty auto-drafting!
Having Travis Henry last season really opened up Vince Yound to scramble alot more and set up the play-action. Losing him + the injury bug has really hurt his value.
The Madden Curse + the sophmore slump were and are both inevitable for Vince this year.
I would be hesitant to start him again until he:
1) Obviously is back from injury 2) has proven himself not to be turnover prone and can be a consistent fantasy point producer. 10/16/2007 12:57:33 PM |

Quote : | "He rejected the trade for Parker/Brees.
Also pick three receivers:
Bernard Berrian @ Philly Santana Moss vs. Arizona Anquan Boldin @ Washington Marques Colston vs. Atl
And since I've still got Palmer, pick one:
Romo vs. Minnesota Palmer vs. NY Jets" |
Berrian (Griese is looking pretty solid and will be going up against an older and opportunistic Eagles secondary), Boldin (assuming he is back from his injury, they will be throwing often), and Colston (The Saints could be coming back into form and are playing a very beatable Falcons secondary. See last night against the Giants).
Stay away from Moss for now. He has been an underachiever for the past year and a half. Way too streaky to be put in the mix as a starter for now.
As far as the QB, I would have to go with Romo. You can't run on the Vikings D, so throwing will be the only option, whereas the Bengals have tried and failed to go toe to toe against teams by passing, and have failed almost every time. With Rudi expected to be at full force this week, I think they will run to set up the pass. Palmer will have good numbers, but Romo will put up stellar ones in a bounce back performance from last week.
Start Romo, Berrian, Boldin and Colston.10/16/2007 1:05:16 PM |

cbs.sportsline.com has a college fantasy football league that i'm in. i dont pay attention to it though. instead of player names, your roster is made up of groups such as "RUTGERS RB, CALIFORNIA WR, BOSTON COLLEGE QB", etc...
Michael Bennett was just signed by the Bucs. I added him in one of my leagues and dropped Ron Dayne. Thoughts? I believe Bennett will be a success in Tampa Bay... He's a lot more comparable to Cadillac than Earnest Graham. 10/16/2007 3:42:25 PM |

there should never, ever be a time where 50 yards and two TD's isn't worth more than 100 yards.
By deduction, that would mean that 50 yds is > than 2 TD's and 25 yds would be > than 1 TD.
Absurd. 10/16/2007 5:03:46 PM |

Also Toomer vs San Fran or Derrick Mason vs Buffalo." |
I really like Jones-Drew again this week. He will likely have almost as many receiving yards as rushing, but he should be an important part of the offense in a game where the Jax WR's won't be very effective. Alexander is being phased out by Weaver and Morris (no joke) and he is really struggling to find a grove so far this season. Lynch will also suffer from the aggressive Baltimore Defense. This will likely be a low scoring game, so Lynch would remain active throughout. While I don't see him finding paydirt, he will be a good yardage option. I would rate those as MJD, Lynch, Alexander.
As for the WR's, you have to go with a hot Giants offense and Toomer as opposed to Mason who will have a terrible Kyle Boller throwing to him.
Start MJD and Toomer10/16/2007 5:15:09 PM |
