Neither shirt I got looks "hot", they are both professional. I just didn't know if the auburn hair with the red shirt would be not so good.

I am like the worst girl ever.

you misread my statement due to the ellipsis and comma placements...i said "red is hot" (end comment), then went on to say that if you have the body for it, white would look good with auburn hair...i say "if you have the body for it" because (in my experience), white makes you look bigger than you are (just like black is slimming), so certain body types look worse in white than many other colors

any reason in particular? i didn't say she should look "hot" at an interview...it was a statement based on personal preference...did i confuse you?

I know at one point, someone asked about the bare minerals makeup.

I love it <3

eahanhan got me the starter set for my birthday, and I quite like this stuff. I've worn it yesterday and today. Uhm...I dunno what else to say about it. I'm not going hunting for the original question, because I've got to skedaddle

And if anyone's on the fence about buying this, do it. This stuff is so awesome (and I have very deeply colored lips to begin with)

^ I think I did. I hate spending a lot of money on something without knowing if I'll like it, and I don't know many other people who have used it.

I got some of the mineral foundation made by Physician's Formula, and it's fine, but nothing to write home about. Maybe I'll try the bare minerals, though, since the people who get it do seem to like it.

Wet n Wild cosmetics is going to start a mineral line called Beauty Benefits in February, so that might be a cheaper option for some people who want to try out mineral makeup.

and Isaac Mizrahi is quitting Target to become the creative director of Liz Claiborne.

Alsoo... where are the most reasonable places to get a massage or facial or eyebrow tint? I think I am going to the most expensive places.

^I'm looking around on that site now. Why is everything $1?? I've never bought anything from here, is it worth it to stock up on stuff since it's so cheap right now?

I dunno. I read great reviews about it and Skwinkle said she got the brand from target a while ago and loved it. I bought 5 things for now (yesterday) and they sent me an E-mail and let me know that they shipped today. I will let you know how they work.

I'll wait and see how you like it. I would want to buy so much (esp for $1) but i don't want them to be crappy products.

^^^ It's always $1, so it's not just a "right now" thing. I got it at Target a few years ago. It wasn't great, but for the price and as everyday makeup the stuff I got was good. I think I got an eyeshadow compact thing that had 9 shades for $2. It was what I wore most days, and I'd say it was well worth the $2.

I think the eyeshadows were all I tried, though.

I haven't seen it at Target in a while, but then again I haven't gone looking for it either.

The thing I got was only $2 because it was 9 different shades. Everything else was $1 just like on the site.

Why the fuck are women such goddamn dumbasses like this?

I'm not saying it'd be justifiable, but at least the death of decent self-tanners and spray tans used to somewhat explain tanning.

But now there are so many good, non-cancer-inviting options. Why the fuck would someone tan? Surely, you really do want melanoma, but just won't own up to it. It's the only explanation.

^ word. embrace the paleness. scarlett johansson style. pale skin can be really beautiful. but if you HAVE to have color, there seem to be a bajillion things better than a tanning bed.

Can be?

It's a hell of a lot more attractive than a warning sign telling everyone you are a superficial cuntbooger, and the least, and may even want to be a leatherface at 25 a tan, but there's just no sense in some folks' heads.

As much as I've probably fucked up with the whole getting burnt at the beach thing, I don't get tanning beds. Usually if I get burnt it's because I'm an idiot, and forget that I've been on the lovely beach for way too long. But laying out and paying to get skin cancer is just dumb.

For the last job I had I couldn't tan (sucks living in Florida and not being able to lay out...) so I got into the habit of always putting sunblock/spf makeup on before I go out. At first I hated it, but at this point I love being pale!

If anyone is tempted by the Noxzema Soothe and Smooth bikini razors like I was, don't get them. They suck.

My kit looked kind of like this:

but it only had the little one-blade razors. They were supposed to be small and easy to use, but after spending 5 minutes going over the same spot, the only result I got was a few nicks, which is weird because there's a plastic thing that's almost flush up against the blade that makes the whole thing pretty much useless. -5 stars.

i need a haircut. except i HATE getting my haircut. i always feel like i look ultra stupid. i usually go to moshi moshi in chapel hill. i like them and i am the least upset when i get my haircut there. but the thing is, although i hate getting my haircut, i really want a new style. something edgy. something indie rock. but not too indie rock like karen o rattail style...i could never pull that off. i wish i could get bangs. but i feel like my hair is too thin. and i get mixed reviews about whether i look better with long hair or short hair, so that is another reason i am reluctant to cut it off. suggestions? styles?

or maybe i'll juts get a trim and try wearing my hair hippie wavy style. product suggestions? i used to use the john frieda spray stuff...forgot what it was called...to do my hair curly (scrunch it), but i got over that look. plus it was always too crunchy. i like soft waves better.

Judging by your pictures, your hair is about as thick as mine, which is not thick at all, which I hate. I got tired of having it just plain and long a little over a year ago, and I went to the Hair and Face Lounge in Cary and told the lady that I didn't want anything too short, but I wanted something different than I'd had for the last several years. She gave me a cut I really liked that's kind of hard to describe ... it was a little above my shoulders and had long, choppy layers.

Anyway, the point of that story was to suggest that you find a good salon and basically tell them what you just put down here. They should be able to offer you some suggestions and give you options to choose from, and hopefully one will be something you'd like.

As for products, I have no idea. Anything I use on my hair seems to look good for an hour or two, then it just weighs it down and makes it look greasy.

^If you end up wanting/needing another recommendation in addition to ^^s, I suggest you go to the Design Gallery. Both stylists there are amazing; I see Brandi. I also have hellaciously long, thick hair eahanhan has REALLY fine hair - finer than yours, it seems. She'll post later second/thirding this recommendation. Lots of folks here on TWW go to the design gallery. I may be misguided in this, but if so, not very: the girls at design gallery can and will solve any problem you can throw at them, in a way that you love.

:-D

In the summer, I'm pretty religious about sunscreen, but I can't do the facial moisturizers, because I have REALLY oily skin. It makes me sad that there's no SPF oil-control moisturizer out there. I'm actually getting really good now about moisturizer/SPF now, too.

^ I've always wanted to go there based on other people's recommendations, but I never have the foresight to call and schedule an appointment several days in advance, and they're always booked up beyond that.

And now I'm never in that area, so I guess I'll never know.

seriously?

I've been three times; one I walked in, one I called a day or two in advance, and one I had scheduled two or three days out, and then had to reschedule (a test I had lasted far longer than I'd anticipated), and got in that same day.

I'll go ahead and say that the Design Gallery is amazing too.

Brandi does great things with my hair which is thick and wavy and I loved what Heather did with my friend Emily's (a different one) hair, which is kind of thin and straight.

Yes yes! Design Gallery is awesome!!! I have very thin hair, and I've been to Brandi two or three times. I would use either stylists, they both seem great.

For reference, this is me/my hair:

Very thin, and they do a great job there.
