"LINDERMAN REVEALS PLANS: "HEROES" CLIP FROM PALEY FESTIVAL
http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=9944

Last night, CBR News attended the “Heroes” Screening and Q&A at the Museum of Television & Radio’s Paley Festival, and was privileged to see a clip from the upcoming episode “.07%.” Read on for our spoiler-filled recap.

In the most recent episode, the ubiquitous Linderman made his first appearance, and told Nathan Petrelli that the congressional candidate was destined to be commander in chief. In “.07%” Linderman continues his pitch.

In the scene, Linderman entertains Nahan in an art gallery which showcases his extensive art collection, paintings of the future all, by Isaac Mendez and people like him. Included among the paintings were those of the fictional Japanese warrior Takezo Kensei. “We all have our roles to play in the events to come,” Linderman says. “This isn’t just a collection of art. This is a road map. These artists envision a brighter future. Peace, prosperity.”

Nathan jabs his finger at a painting of the New York explosion and asks: “Is this your idea of a brighter future?”

“What if I was to tell you that it was?” Linderman replies.

Linderman goes on to explain that he, too, has powers, which came with an audible reaction from the audience. He’d become aware of them years earlier, and banded together with others like him “to make a difference to the world.” But some of his comrades in arms lost their way. “Greed set in, and we split apart. And all the good we’d done, well, it amounted to nothing,” Linderman says.

Then Linderman drops a bombshell, literally and figuratively: the explosion is to be the catalyst for a better future. When Nathan wonders out aloud about the cost in lives, Linderman counters, “There’s six and a half billion people on the planet, that’s less than .07%. Come on, that’s an acceptable loss by anyone’s count.”

“It is your destiny, Nathan, to be the leader who uses this event to rally a city, a nation, a world,” Linderman continues. And to drive the point home, Linderman unveils a prophetic painting of Nathan Petrelli in the Oval Office, seemingly painted by Isaac Mendez.

“If you know all this, you also know the exploding man is my brother Peter,” Nathan says.

“As I said, we all have our role to play. Peter’s curtain call will come the day after you’re elected.”

“.07%,” the first of the final five episode of “Heroes’” first year, is scheduled to air on April 23rd on NBC. "

Late April like the 20 something. Hopefully they will keep doing the graphic novels, even though they have gotten lame the past few weeks.

In reference to what was discussed a couple of pages ago about who would have the advantage between Peter and Sylar -- I don't think it's so clearly in favor of Peter. Remember, Sylar knows what powers he has, and he's fairly practiced at using them. Peter doesn't even know everything he took from Sylar, and what he's got, he's barely used. Plus, well, he just doesn't strike me as much of a fighter.

They're going to have to do something to limit Peter, and soon, or else he's just going to get too powerful. Frankly, if he learns how to master everything he's already got, that alone will make him too strong.

"Heroes Finale Details Leaked
http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?id=40615

Tim Kring, creator of NBC's Heroes, revealed to SCI FI Wire that the first-season finale will comprise the last three episodes of the year, will bring all of the main characters together in New York—and will ultimately result in the death of one or more heroes. "The whole thing converges in New York, ... and they're all there, and all of them play a role," Kring said in an interview at Wizard World in Los Angeles on March 17. "Even though some may feel like they're less significant to the final event, when you analyze it, each one had to play that role in order for the final event to be solved, and so there really was a kind of destiny quality to them coming together and having each one fulfilling [one thing] and one specific role."

Kring and company are completing the final draft of the season finale script—episode number 23, called "How to Stop an Exploding Man"—which goes into production in a week and is slated to air on May 23. Meanwhile, production has begun on the previous episode, "Landslide," Kring said.

As for the deaths? All Kring will say is that people die, including main characters. "The thing is, people knew fairly early on [that they might not make it through the season]," Kring said of the cast members. "Everybody, every actor that we've spoken to. I mean, ... we've spoken about this idea, that on this show the story is king and everybody is in service of that story. It's not a star vehicle. No, the show does not live or die by any one character. And so every actor should realize that at some point their ticket might come up. It's both sad and exciting at the same time."

Kring added: "It became very important that if we were going to set up the stakes of a villain and a conspiracy, the stakes would just not be real unless there were some deaths along the way. But the one caveat is, on a show like Heroes, you may not always [stay] dead. And with our ability to go back and forth in time, you may be dead, but you may show up on the show a few more times."

The season finale will also set up the show for season two, Kring said. "There is a cliffhanger quality to some of the episode, but more in terms of what is the fate of some of our characters, as opposed to what the story is going to be," he said. "Although we do have a one, I hope, shocking sort of spoiler for what season two is going to be. A premonition of ... what we're calling volume two." Heroes, which airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, returns with the last new episodes of the season on April 23. (NBC is owned by NBC Universal, which also owns SCIFI.COM.)"

Damn people cannot win on here (suprise, suprise). Put up spoiler alerts - people cry "thats not a spoiler", don't put one up - people whine "why don't you alert that there is a spoiler." If it's not a spoiler let it ride...why comment.

Now on to my post - I hate having a long break, but it is allowing me to study on Monday nights again. I am very interested in possible actors for next season....

"Heroes' Creators Look At Year Two
http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=1&id=40619
via digg: http://digg.com/television/Heroes_Creators_Look_At_Year_Two

Tim Kring, creator of NBC's Heroes, told SCI FI Wire that he and his writing staff are looking ahead at season two and that if they've taken one lesson from their freshman year, it's this: Don't be afraid to reveal secrets, even big ones, along the way. "I have to admit I feel pretty good about the fact that we didn't leave a lot of things dangling for people," Kring said in an interview at Wizard World in Los Angeles on March 17. "There were one or two moments where there were things we had answers to and we couldn't film them, or we cut them in the editing room, and I regret that. But I do think this idea ... of not being too precious with any one idea is really an important lesson: to be willing to kill people off and take the really tough decisions to kill off characters that may be fairly popular for the sake of reinventing the show. It has to have a kind of constant sense of reinvention, or else we're going to die of our own inertia."

Kring added that he and his writers are trying to avoid the problems that other TV shows encountered after hitting big in their first seasons, only to falter in subsequent seasons. "The other big thing is we just have to reveal things in a timely fashion and not let them build up," he said, pointing to the example of The X-Files, which built up so much mythology over the course of 10 years that no answers were likely to satisfy the audience. Kring added: "I think we want to have some more romance, I think we're missing that. I'd like to have some more romance on the show."

Kring also said that he wants to tell a few more stories, along the lines of this year's "Company Man," that detour away from the season's main story arc and delve a bit deeper into the backstory of a single character or two.

With the examples of Twin Peaks and even Lost, Kring is aware of the pressure for Heroes to maintain its quality and appeal. "I'm as worried about that as anyone else," he said. "I would be lying if I said that that doesn't keep me up at night. Because I do think that you only get one chance to really have a first impression, and that first blush, like anything else in life, whether it's food or a relationship, ... always has a certain bloom on it that is hard to relive. That being said, one of the ... basic premises of the show was setting up a world and a premise that would allow us to rejuvenate and not to be locked onto the same characters. So some of that secret weapon is the ability to bring on some new people. And I think since it's a show where I think mostly the reason that people watch it is they're enjoying the characters, ... if we can create new characters that people are intrigued by, you get a chance to start afresh with people. So that's the whole conceit. And then the other thing was the idea of trying to wrap things up in one season. Or one volume. And then start over in the next volume, but something new, so you give people the sense that there are closed-ended qualities to the show." Heroes will wrap its first season with new episodes beginning April 23 in its regular timeslot, Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. (NBC is owned by NBC Universal, which also owns SCIFI.COM.)"

we've not seen the culmination of the exploding man saga yet, it's entirely possible that peter does start to go supernova but that he either controls it or is subdued - and that sylar is the one to explode. After all, Sylar is the loose cannon, greedily and recklessly acquiring powers without care of the consequences. Peter may not even get the ability from Ted but from Sylar.

i think sylar needs to go, hes really not that intersting as far as his motives for doing all this evil, it would be better to have some kind of dr. evil character for the heroes to fight

I think Sylar makes for a great boogeyman kind of villain, but he is one dimensional. I think they should handle him in a live-by-the-sword, die-by-the-sword kind of way and have him go out in a blaze of glory.

Linderman will make a great intellectual supervillain, i.e., Magneto for Heroes.

I was thinking about the Peter situation again today.. He just seems to be getting too powerful for them to keep him as a main character on the show. If he was evil, that would be fine, but you can't have an unstoppable Hero even if he does have some emotional issues. I have a feeling that Sylar is going to be the one to explode due to absorbing too many powers (or Teds). Peter will see what happens and be scared to have the same happen to himself so he will distance himself from the other heroes and go into hiding for much of season two, then come back when everyone needs help.

^^ Only thing in the novels of interest has been the kid who can heal... probably Linderman, I can't imagine them introducing another new hero through the novels this late in the season.

Yeah I guess they did go ahead and create another one through the comics haha... My guess is they are setting the comics up to show the relationship between Linderman and Hiro's dad. That or just the whole history for next season.
