^Yeah I worked there for three years and I think its far more interesting then a normal pharmacy. He actually doesn't own it anymore, he sold it to a former Campbell student who was his very first pharmacy student. But I believe they still have Campbell students who work there for credit.

Back to the more important topic - fiancee really wants to have cupcakes instead of a wedding cake, anyone know of a place in the area that does good wedding cupcakes?

Unless you have tea stained PLENTY before now, I wouldn't do it. I've heard some bad stories from that going awry.

I don't really know how to word this but... How do y'all handle someone using an idea you had?

I don't mean saying anything, but just personally. I'm very annoyed, sad, and kinda pissed off atm.

If this doesn't make sense a PM might work out better...

Hard to say without knowing the idea, but as an example, if you came up with a great idea for your wedding and a friend took the same idea for theirs, is it still something you can do? Just because someone else is doing it doesn't mean you can't anymore, that just means it was obviously a good idea and you should be proud. Its definitely shittier though if its a situation where you can't really do it as well (everyone going to the copiers wedding is coming to yours, etc). But just try to not dwell on it, be proud you came up with something good enough to be copied.

I guess it depends on the idea.

For example occamsrezr was telling me a story about some friends of his who got married.

Couple A had a slideshow of the couple from babyhood to the wedding shown at the reception.

Two years later Couple B does something similar. Couple A gets pissed off and leaves the reception during the slideshow.

I personally think that's stupid as hell since a) it's not an original idea at all b) a standard part of wedding receptions in other countries and c) the weddings are 2 years apart from each other.

There are times when it really irks me, and times when I'm like "man, I must be awesome to come up with something other people want to do". In case of the former, I firmly believe the best thing is to do just roll with it, accept that it is a compliment (I know it's cliche, but that doesn't mean it's not true!), and move on.

The only instance where I think more thought and attention is warranted is if, say a friend is getting married a month before you, a lot of the same people will be at both yours and their weddings, and they steal some insanely awesome unique idea you had already planned to use for your own. I wouldn't pitch a fit per se, but let whomever know that it's not very cool of them to poach on something I had banked on doing.

Honestly it's not even worth getting into an argument with this person, but it's definitely not a situation wolfpackgrr described.

I guess the take-home message of this is some people really have to one up you (or try) on everything. :\

Thanks - we will have to check out both of those. So the fiance started to see eye to eye on the wedding in the backyard as its not going to be great at the end of July. We are starting to look at some other places now, hopefully we can find something that isn't booked already.

The Cupcake Shoppe just doesn't do it for me. Their icing is way too sweet and two of the three times I've had their cupcakes they were dry

Just make sure that you order your postage stamps from that post office as well. That's what keeps the post office from being shut down!

So I got an email from our director today saying graduation will be May 12, 2012

I promptly emailed Eric and said, "See?! My gut feeling was correct"

And I scheduled our e-pics and 3 cake tastings over Spring Break...

Joie - the pics look great the only thing I would be worried about is someone flipping out over the kid picture and reporting you.. I'm a little paranoid though.

[Edited on December 9, 2010 at 3:17 PM. Reason : although I guess they wouldn't be able to do anything if it's you in the pic....]

meh. i had someone say the same thing to me when i put in the yearbook as my baby picture.

i never EVER think of it that way.

the only time i ever do is when someone says something (this goes for all baby pics)

funny thing about that picture. i stripped down totally naked and wanted the guy to take a pic. (dont ask me....three year olds heh) my mom said no and i started bawling. she told me i could if i put on some bloomers.

i happily obliged.

hahaha nice

I guess I thought of it because of what happened to that poor family courtesy of Wal-Mart.. they had pictures of their kids after getting a bath and they person reported them

but then after I said that to you I realized it's probably different if it's a picture of yourself

anywho, I like it

So where have you all rented suits from? We want to go a little more casual since we are getting married at the end of the summer and are trying to find maybe tan linen suits. We've talked to Men's Warehouse but they are relatively expensive as we are probably going to have to buy rather then rent.

^You are amiss grammar nazi - If you actually clicked to read the blog instead of copying and pasting the shortened sentence from the sidebar, you'd see I actually wrote ""Tying the knot" literally. I like to be different. I enjoy the new and unseen. I'd rather be original and have to work a bit harder than take the easy route and be lame. And this brings us to mini CEREMONY ceremonies."

Here's a cute idea to get all your digital wedding photos from your guests - http://www.chicaandjo.com/2009/03/05/photo-sharing-after-wedding-or-big-event/
