i just started playing Gears of War a couple days ago (rented it and sat on it for a couple months)

pretty sweet...I have beaten the 1st 3 chapters on the easiest difficulty level...sweet graphics and a pretty cool storyline imo

yeah i just got on the gow bandwagon a few weeks ago. i beat it on hardcore the first time thru. i would go as far and say it is the best single player game since resident evil 4.

now i am waiting on call of juarez, assassin's creed, bioshock, and gta4. oh and cod4.

it was good, but didnt feel as fleshed out as RE4. the flow was pretty constant though for the most part and the controls are nice.

Is it just me or does Call of Juarez look like a FPS version of Gun? I mean the slow motion thing where you can aim the guns is just like it was in Gun and you won't be able to use that feature in multi-player.

I'm not expecting much out of it so I guess if it's good I'll be pleasently suprised.

^^ yeah the covering system, which is great, can out you right in danger at times. thats about all i have to say that is bad about the control scheme.

i have the game.

graphics are good, just a a small lighting issue, and draw distance seems ok at best... but draw distance is not really important in this game (when has draw distance ever mattered?). gameplay is sweet. guns have a really good crack to them. this is like a hl2-style game, whereas gun was a gta-style game. this game doesn't suck at all. first impressions it should at least get an 8/10 at the minimum. i think i will just pretty much stop reading reviews, after this game. i have been reading a bunch of flawed reviews lately.

i will let you know how the mp is later on.

on hardcore he is TUFF, i could not imagine it on insane. it took me 2 days of playing him 2 hours before i finally beat him. probably took so long since i only played it on hardcore. for me, i always start out at the highest difficulty as possible. i get more out of the game and spend more time with it.

i thought the easy/novice whatever its called mode was pretty tough and i'm through the first chapter on hardcore now and it seems about the same...i can tell its harder but i think for me, playing through the first difficulty got me accustomed to the controls and some strategies and apparently i learned and got better at just the right rate

but yeah i can imagine he's be hard as hell...i heard on Insane it takes about 18 sniper shots to the head

18 'active reloaded' sniper shots i would think and am almost for sure of it. normal sniper shots on hardcore could easily take 18 to kill him.

oh and by the way, casual achievements unlock when you unlock hardcore achievements. so this would great for me.

yeah i looked through the list...i'll probably get 30 GS for killing the first Berserker or Reaver or whatever that huge spider in the ground is on Hardcore this evening

really good game though with awesome graphics...surprised it took me this long to get into it but in fairness i didnt really give it a chance

i beat gow on insane by myself first and got TONS of achievement points for doing that

i have a lot of multiplayer achievements too, but i haven't played online since the day after the first set of new levels...so like a year ago.

^^ how was insane difficulty unlocked for you to beat it first? on my gow only casual and hardcore difficulties were available out of the box. insane difficulty unlocks after you beat it on hardcore. i call bs, big time.

oh the mp in call of juarez is the next best thing, or maybe even equal to cod3 mp. don not let any weak reviews steer you from this game. ign gave it a 7.5, but the dude in the video review sounds suspect imo. only ign's and gamespot's reviews should ever count. any other reviews are pretty much nothing.

Pac-Man: Championship Edition out on XBLA.



I think Prince of Persia comes out for XBLA next week. Next Wednesday to be exact. It's an homage to the old-school PoP with some updated graphics.

I thought they were OK. I just can't get into stealth games that well. I admire stealth games because those types of games make you think, but it's just nothing that I could get into.

Oh yeah, Assassin's Creed is slated to come out in November instead of late September. I guess the fact that Halo 3 was coming out the same day had something to do with it, but I think they're just making sure the final product is straight up greatness.

Tenchu was a little different cause even though stealth was encouraged in order to get some of the awesome bloody sword kills, it wasnt required...you could run up on people and still kill them, it would just take more than one hit

Also Tenchu 2 had a 'Create your own board' feature which was really cool

I made one board where you had to collect the three scrolls...I made the entire board a pitfall...I put a solid platform/land area in each corner of the board, one where you started, the other 3 each with a scroll...and the only way to get to each corner was to jump across some tedious trapdoor platforms that would fall if you stood on them for more than a second or two...I dont think I ever beat that board lol

well i dl'd the tenchu and shadowrun demos. tenchu sucked my nutz and looks like shit. shadowrun seemed really fun in training and had some cool aspects, but blew in bot maps (slow fighting, weapons feel off, etc).

those are correct assessments sir. i did not do the showrun dmo, but i have looked at vids of it and it seems ok at best. tenchu is pretty much nothing overall. coj is currently the best new game to look into.

i mean shadowrun was kinda fun with the teleportation through walls and gliding and stuff, but it just couldnt deliver.
