^^^^Same way Wilson threw the ball 14 times for 170 yards. I know it's hard to believe he threw 14 - 170yard passes in one game, but he did. Amazing. 8/20/2009 7:11:30 AM |

Quote : | "3. South Carolina: The Gamecocks will start 0-2, which will set off speculation that Steve Spurrier will quit after the season. They’ll get better thereafter, but not so much better than Spurrier decides to stick around in 2010. Regular season: 7-5, losses to N.C. State, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas and Florida. Music City Bowl: Beats Miami." |
Prediction by one of the sports writers for the Atlanta Journal Constituion. It would be interesting to see USC play a third ACC team in a bowl game at the end of the season. It would be hilarious if they lost all three considering Cock fans talk so much shit on ACC football.

He was named a team co-captain by his teammates heading into 2009. At 6-foot-7, McCuller is the tallest lineman on the Wolfpack. His 335-pound frame makes him one of more menacing along the offensive line. Here’s more from the fifth-year senior from Atlantic Shores Christian School.

He didn't have two 97 yard punts...he had two punts that averaged 97 yards
So maybe one was 91 yards and the other was 103

if you punt a puppy off a bridge and it falls 200yards to the water surface, does that count as 1 punt for 200 yards?

^I think he's just trying to manage expectations. Their fan base is a lot like ours (high expectations, unbridled optimism, etc.) and if he says, "man we looked great," then the fan base will freak out and expect nothing short of 10 wins.
TOB has done the same kind of thing, saying "we're just not playing good football right now" or "not everybody has bought into the system." I'm paraphrasing of course, but he's said some things like that over the past couple of years. 8/20/2009 2:13:40 PM |

Longest punt in NFL History.
"98 Steve O'Neal, N.Y. Jets vs. Denver, Sept. 21, 1969"
I think the stat given should have been obvious to anyone with common sense and the most basic understanding of the game. If you think you have those two things, and you still dont understand the stat that was given, then your self-awareness is really lacking. 8/20/2009 2:15:08 PM |

Good interview with DeAndre Morgan.
Quote : | "The coaches, the facilities, the school...everything was great. But the biggest thing was the fans," Morgan said. "I wanted to go to a Florida school, but the fans down in Florida, they aren't as dedicated as the fans at NC State. Down here we can play a team like Appalachian State or Gardner Webb and the game will be sold out, but if Miami or FSU plays a school like FAMU they will get like 10,000 people there. The dedication of the fans down in Florida didn't compare to the fans in Raleigh."" |

How do you know its not YOU thats reading it wrong. Theres just not enough information. It could easily mean a punt from the 2 to the other 1. I don't think adding all of his punts up to 97 yards would be a headline stat worth noting. Now if the punt wasn't fielded because it went over the returners head and he didn't want to try and pick it up, field it, and turn around before being wacked then the kicking team could have easily escorted the ball as it rolled only to stop it right before the goal line. 8/20/2009 2:50:26 PM |
