Many of the Man U supporters on ESPN's cameras "forgot" to wear red. Perhaps they feared a Tevez hat trick.

so john terry motioned to the bench that he won those tackles that got him the yellows (in which he shouldve had at least 3 yellow cards this match)...but that last tackle that got him the red, he wasnt even close to gettin it and went flying through bale from behind...couldve easily been a straight red. john terry sucks. i thought chelski were playing liverpool next week but they have a home match against stoke, so this prob wont affect them at all :/

i dont know how he doesnt get more reds than he does. he makes tackles like that every game.

Blow this fucking squad up in the summer.

I hope Wenger was sending a message by excluding Eduardo, Denilson, and Almunia from the team entirely.

Denilson and Almunia were injured. I think Denilson had some leg injury from a couple matches ago and Almunia messed his wrist up. Not sure about Eduardo. This late season for Arsenal has sucked, so many injuries...Fabregas, Song, Arshavin, now Vermaelen, Denilson and Almunia. Plus van Persie out for so long, honestly I'm surprised they've done so well. Good thing for deep benches, but it's hard to replace some of that talent even with the high quality of players they have in reserve.

crucial game in 45 minutes. cant believe united still have a little bit of a chance to win the league. though, i dont feel as confident now of pulling this off now that torres is out for the season for liverpool. i think he wouldve ruined chelski's title hopes

these commentators are sickening they make it seem like Chelsea have no shot at the title, they play Stoke tomorrow at the Bridge not one of the big 4. They win that back to 1 point clear. The game against Liverpool is the one that will determine the title.

awesome goal by Nani

still can't believe Utd is back on top... they just haven't seemed like champions when I've watched them this year, especially w/out Rooney, but oh well points are all that matter

well hot fucking damn, i believe this win means west ham wont get relegated unless burnley manages to win all 3 of its next games (fat fucking chance).

that definitely helps the old GD for Chelsea.

Next week will determine the title. Chelsea must win at Anfield, I don't expect Sunderland to give ManU too much trouble

they drew 2-2 earlier in the year at Old Trafford on a late own goal by Anton Ferdinand. but Foster was in net then and Utd will be playing with a title on their minds. hopefully they don't come out sluggish.

Liverpool could still take 4th place

but it's such a confusing scenario that I'm not sure who to root for in any given game

first of all, they have to beat Chelsea next week, and then Hull City, and amass sufficient goal differential to maintain their narrow lead in that respect

then
Spurs take <= 4 pts from Bolton, City, and Burnley (a pretty fucking long shot)
Villa take <= 4 pts from City, Blackburn
City take <= 5 pts from Villa, Tottenham, West Ham

and we're in the Champions League!

Liverpool are perfectly capable of beating Chelsea, but I'm not at all sure they can beat Hull

anyhow, I will definitely be rooting for some draws

I don't think he initially intended to follow through with the headbutt... it looked like he wanted to push and get up in his face and his momentum just kept taking him forward and at the end of it, he was like, oh fuck it I'll just headbutt him

wtf is jozy thinking...he deserved that ball being thrown at him haha. he went in with his elbow in the initial challenge in the first place. hes lucky thats all that guy did to him.

i am not confident at all with our strikeforce going into the WC. its donovan/dempsey train or bust. jozy has looked shitty as hell in the EPL.

^ Altidore hasn't been that bad lately (before that ridiculous headbutt)

he's just on one of the worst teams in the league

what about Herculez Gomez for the WC? He was Mexico's leading goalscorer (tied with 2 others) - 10 goals in 14 games.

[Edited on April 26, 2010 at 10:20 AM. Reason : I don't really think he's the answer. Better than CC tho]

1 goal in 28 appearances is pretty shitty imo...even if its a bad team if youre a good striker you can still score.

hes going back to villareal i guess after this season...not sure what theyre gonna do with him though

^i saw him gettin some love from someone recently to get a look...but he has no national team experience at all...but if hes scoring id almost rather have him starting over jozy.

lol, their 3 leading scorers are all midfielders (6/5/5) and I bet a lot of those were from penalties. Goals aren't the deciding factor on if he's been decent or not

plus most of his appearances have been like 10 minutes. He was really starting to play better as the season went on

^there's no way Jozy isn't in the starting lineup. Remember when he wasn't getting any minutes at all for Villarreal, but he was scoring hat tricks for the US? He's always produced for the national team, regardless of club form (and his club form hasn't been THAT bad lately anyways)

cough Spain cough

I agree though, I'm definitely worried on if he'll actually produce... but there's no doubt he's our best option to me because Donovan has finally found his best position, I would rather not fuck that up.

he only has 8 goals in 24 appearances against a lot of crappy competition...im not so sure about jozy anymore. i think hes taken a couple of bad steps in advancing his career...

yes he has scored against spain and mexico...but man, look at where his 6 others have come from, 3 of which were a hat trick to a country smaller than the size of rhode island

he is still only 20, but there are gonna be a lot of ppl putting a lot of pressure on his shoulders..i just have a feeling its gonna be a bad idea to rely on him to score our goals

idk. im puttin a lot of my offensive faith in donovan and dempsey. both play(ed) great in the EPL, and thats a great stage to showcase your talents. im pretty confident they can handle themselves this summer

[Edited on April 26, 2010 at 10:42 AM. Reason : and the mexico goal was a friendly...]

so what? we don't play the best teams in the world every single game... so who else is he supposed to score goals against?

OMG DAVIES HASN'T SCORED A EUROPEAN TEAM, HE SUXXXXX

yeah, I'm putting faith in our best players too. I just don't think they're as effective up top... Jozy usually does a good job for us on his own and Dempsey/Donovan can work off him better than somebody like Gomez/Findley/other MLS n00b that they haven't played much with. If we play Donovan/Dempsey up top, who goes into the midfield?

he cant help who he plays, but he sure can help scoring more against who he plays. if hes great, he should score a lot more against these weak teams. especially since hes been our main threat up top for close to 2 years now
