I have a feeling Spurs are going to get taught a lesson at the bridge today.

If I'm Sherwood I'm letting it all hang out with a 442 on the road. If you're going to lose at least do it swinging.

Really need Eriksen to be fit. Sandro holding is an absolute must too.

Ozil and Cazorla were brilliant. Top class and bossed midfield all game. Need Ramsey to partner with Flamini though. Arteta just aging...

Walker in midfield to battle Hazard is either a genius or goat move.

Torres injured in warm ups lol

^^ LFC rightfully get roasted over buying Carroll but they don't get nearly enough credit for getting rid of Torres when they did at the price they did

Spurs players taking turns abusing Azpilicueta

If Azpilicueta is the best spain has at LB they are insanely weak at that position. If Spurs are going to score it will be Walker and Ade playing off him.

I admire you for being a Spurs fan, Ribs

it's, like, the opposite of being a Man U fan over the past few years

seriously, I lift my glass to you, sir.

Err, I've been one since 1997. I've been through thick and thick. You've no right to talk about my 'fandom'. And we call ourselves supporters, not fans.

Justin Bieber has 'fans' lol. Sorry don't mean to sound like a dick.

you've won 9 domestics titles and two Champions League titles in those 17 seasons, and you've been to 4 CL finals

if this is what you mean by "thick and thick," okay

but regardless, in my book, Ribs and other supporters of Tottenham (and other second-rate clubs, such as Valencia whom my buddy roots for) merit a respect which fans of Manchester United, or Liverpool for that matter, do not. he sticks by his team despite the fact that they haven't won the league since 1960 and probably won't win it for at LEAST another two decades.

like it or not, that's a level of support and loyalty that you can't lay claim to. not saying you're less ardent a supporter, but you haven't suffered for your team the way he has, and I respect him for his stalwartness in this face of pain and hopelessness.

lol whatever

Sports are supposed to be fun. It's more fun when your team wins. Supporting a team that wins a lot makes sense. We're all just people in the US randomly choosing teams in England/Europe anyway - you might as well pick one that wins the majority of the time. If watching a team lose a lot and/or never win anything meaningful is something you take pride in or get enjoyment out of, then by all means, go for it. But don't hate on other people if they don't want to be miserable watching something they supposedly enjoy.

I'm a State fan because I went to NC State and for that reason, I would never just randomly pick another college to root for. But in pro sports, everything is fair game to me.

[Edited on March 8, 2014 at 6:25 PM. Reason : It's way more fun to just pick one team to root against, rather than have one team to root for.]

why is JeffBSG over here fluffing Ribs?

no respect for picking a team that wins? isn't that how arsenal got all their US fans? Confluence of more TV time and the invincibles season.... otherwise no one would give the tiniest of fucks about them.

City in semis.

Going through 4 of top 5 in the Prem has to be one of the hardest draws ever to potentially get to a final. Spurs, Liverpool, Everton and City.

Mass suicide if Arsenal fail to win the cup. Birmingham 2011 will have nothing on the fallout that would come from it.

You could argue that it's harder to be a legit United fan now considering you're automatically branded a bandwagon fake fan by everybody.

^^ I appreciate the kind words

^ There's also some truth in it too. I mean, if some new guy showed up next year as a Man City fan we would all label him plastic. He definitely jumped on the bandwagon when they were up, just like people used to do with ManU.

Also there are a lot of bandwagon United fans. Most are absolute spastics. The only good thing about this bad season is that they will screw off to city or arsenal. Which is absolutely fine by me. As someone who isn't white, every time I am at Old Trafford people usually think I am a bandwagon fan here to watch United as a tourist experience.

I'd give Sergio Buzquets that title well before I'd award it to Arjen Robben.

I don't mind Robben's diving too terribly much...he seems no worse than many others. And I don't recall seeing much of him writhing on the ground in agony, as Busquets and many others do.

Yeah Busquets is pretty bad. You could definitely see a bit of Guardiola's bullshit last night though. Not even close to Barca levels though.

Has Suarez even done anything that bad this season?

Arsenal really are the Mets. Injury record is unbelievable. Has to be something to do with training methods/doctors (or just way too small a squad to compete on four fronts). It isn't always just bad luck.

Arsenal are going into NLD with arguably their best three outfield players out if Ramsey isn't back (him, Ozil and Walcott).

** and don't go there. It's not an excuse. With the players left Arsenal SHOULD still get a result.
