I'm partial to the green one. The pink is pretty and fun, but I like the summery look of the green. It's very new-growth, leafy, rejuvenating--all kinds of nice adjectives.

I'm also not a huge fan of the waistline on the pink dress, though some people--ie people skinner than me--can really rock it and it adds some hour-glassy-ness.

just a thought...CVS has a 100% satisfaction on makeup and the like...if you don't like it/it doesn't work you can get a refund no questions asked. Great for trying new stuff...

I like the green dress but would appreciate more suggestions ladies!

That tip about CVS is excellent, I may have to make a trip there before too long.

Any sundress + shaw/coverage would be good.

That green dress is adorable!

I think Macy's is having a sale on dresses so I'd go check there.

do want

Ulta has the same satisfaction guarantee. You can take anything back so long as you haven't used more than half. And it has a little better/higher quality selection.

it was either sephora or ulta where i walked in with questions about concealers and foundations and they hooked me up with a bunch of free samples without having to buy anything, then i could try it w/o the hassle of buying/returning. that was pretty cool.

So I've started laying in the tanning bed for a friends wedding in June

I don't use lotions or anything, is that bad, or good, or what? What is the point of the tanning lotions?

it's probably to keep your skin from drying out or something. I don't use tanning beds so I don't really know.

^I have a friend who got her eyelashes at Bodylase Skin Spa and they're gorgeous.

I always forget that they're fake and ask what kind of mascara she wears, she just laughs at me.

its expensive but you never have to wear mascara or the lenghting base coat for your lashes and if you wear contacts like i do it won't irritate your eyes.

do you know how much she pays? its like 300-400 here. I don't know if its more expensive over there.

Anyone have a good sunless tanner recommendation? Something that won't make me orange is preferred, as is something that isn't $$$. I'd also like something that has an instant colorant in it if that exists because I bought
a few weeks ago and I like it a lot except I can't tell if I've gotten it everywhere and I ended up with some really funny-looking stripes on the backs of my arms.

Sorry if this has been covered in this thread before but I don't recall it, and new things come out pretty often.

And on that note, one of my magazines just got a letter from a tanning place with them getting pissed at us for running an article saying not to tan.

So, I know there is a whole thread on the Diva Cup, but it sorta belongs here to (less men to go "ew"). I just got one and TOTALLY recommend it. I usually get really horrible cramps and it has been so much better this cycle. And its less gross than I thought it was going to be.

Its kinda pricey at whole foods, but are reasonable online. So, yay, everyone should try it!

What's a good, reasonably-priced vanilla fragrance?

I want something a little more classy than Vanilla Fields, but I also want a pure vanilla fragrance - none of this 'vanilla overtones' nonsense.

Right now, I'm just using vanilla body lotion, and some days, pairing it with Kenzo Red perfume (btw, that's a LOVELY mix.), but it's just not vanilla-y enough.

Yup, I ordered one online and would highly suggest it. It's so great, like you aren't even having your period except when you empty it twice a day. Best part is definitely that it doesn't smell like tampons and pads do.

Do anyone of y'all know of a really good website that has pictures of updos. I gotta figure out what type of hair style I'm going to wear for a wedding I'm going to be in in about a month.

this doesn't pertain just to the ladies i guess but...has anyone ever been to a personal trainer? i kinda want to get like a couple of sessions this summer after i'm done with school. because i really need to get my ass in gear and i'm hoping they'd start me off on the right track. not a lot of sessions maybe 3 max mostly because of $$. unless someone else wants to design me a workout plan. i'm just overweight (i think, i don't know) and definitely out of shape (not horribly though) and EXHAUSTED. i have no energy. must get healthy.

that dress makes you look 2 AND frumpy. something brighter or more colorful seems appropriate.

if money is your issue, check out rugged warehouse or goodwill. mix and match. just don't shop at delias.

I am a sad panda... I got my hair done yesterday (my usual 6RO deep red, my hair is really short so its never been a problem at any job I have had) and started a recreation internship today. They are making me make it more "natural". I don't know if you ladies have ever played with max-red dye before, but there is about NOTHING that can get it out. So I have to go get them to bleach it into a strawberry blonde or something. I am totally loosing my favorite part of my "look". Its like what kinda defined me.

What a great way to start out the summer.

I know this hasn't come up in a while... but for everyone on NuvaRing... please consider other options. It recently almost killed me. I am 23, non smoker and have been on birth control pills for 7 years- I never had any problems until I switched to the Nuva ring. After doing so, I got EIGHT blood clots in my lungs. I never experienced any leg pain and had no indication of clot before it literally almost killed me. The doctors who took care of me said the Nuva Ring had increased incidence of clots in younger, non smoking women comparable to that of the patch but it is just newer so the FDA has not yet mandated a warning on packaging ... Just and FYI...

^^Yikes, glad you're here to post about it. Scary.

frugal_qualm, I had RO gone bad a few years ago and my stylist was able to tone it down pretty easily. Though I don't think your hair looks 'unnatural' - how silly.

I really came in here to post about my new epilator! As a veteran of the '80's era torture coil known as the Epilady, I never really considered using one again until reading a review of the new, improved Epilady a few months ago. I opted for a different brand, but have to say that they've made great strides in this technology. Over the past two nights (with the assistance of some wine, highly recommended), I've removed the hair from my legs and most of my bikini area, and for the most part it was less painful than waxing (although it takes longer) and didn't irritate my skin as much. Since it cost about the same as one wax job, I'm ahead the next time I use it.

I got the Emjoi Light Caress - don't let the name fool you, there's nothing 'caressing' about it, and I think 'light' refers to the fact that it has a light on it. However, it does a good job and as I said, I thought it hurt less than wax. YMMV. Drugstore.com has them and I think I saw one at Ulta as well.

I've been on both regular birth control (orthotricyclen) and the patch before I tried Nuvaring and I've had no problem with it (I've been using it for at least a year now). I'm not trying to discount your story by any means, but different kinds of birth control have different effects on different people.
