Well, for one, nobody seems willing to give up what I want for either. Also, each has really paid big dividends for my team (I'm 6-0). I'm averaging at least 35 points per game with whoever I start. It also seems that each week, the one I don't start somewhat struggles, so I think it's good to have these 2 options. I'm holding them now, since I'm up 4 games in my division, but may be more willing to part ways with one of them toward playoff time.
Also, any new news on Maroney?

Maroney will be a game time decision.
Go with other options if you have them.
Ask questions if ya got em!! 10/21/2007 10:04:41 AM |

Quote : | "guru, guru... answer me these questions three...
i have culpepper. Huard is a FA. they go against each other, and both will probably put up huge numbers... but which would thee play?
secondly, Justin "the Friar" Tuck is my D-Line IDP, but his counter part, Osi Umenyiora, is also a free agent. I can drop the Friar and pick up Osi, or i can keep the good Friar and see how he does against the horrible 49ers O-Line. Both will have sacks... just wondering who you think will have more...
and finally... VD is for everybody. Vernon Davis, that is. He's a FA and he's playing again this week. My TE is Desmond Clark, who, while not spectacular, consistently gives me 5-7 pts. a game (per reception and 20 yards = 1 pt.) I can't make room on my roster for VD, so i'd have to drop D-Clark to get him. What is the answer, oh great one?
thx." |
I do like Huard more than Culpepper this week, though Culpepper will likely end up with more yards, he will also have at least 2 more turnovers. If it's not too late, pick up Huard (or Boller) and start them over Culpepper
While I do love Umenyiora, teams have started to double team him and allow others on the D-line to shine, which is why the Giants D has been a pretty good play in the last few weeks. Despite the good play, I would stick with the Friar on this one, as they will be passing alot, and Rattay is garbage. You are right, both will have sacks, but Mr. Tuck will have more tackles as well.
As for the TE, leave it as is for now. Greise has a good chemistry with his two TE's, and VD has shown nothing consistent since coming into the league last year. At this point, VD is nothing but an overhyped backup TE for your fantasy team. I'd stick with Desmond for this week, as Philly gives up yards to the TE. Start Desmond.
Good Luck!

Maroney is inactive today
Faulk makes a great start, especially in PPR leagues.

I like all three of your starters, but dont expect Northcutt to get in the endzone. With Champ Bailey questionable and Dre Bly hurting, I wouldn't at all be suprised to see Hines Ward end up with about 60 yards and a TD. He wont have a big play in the game, but I can easily see him catching a 10 yard slant into the end zone or something along those lines.
If it's a PPR league, go with Northcutt. If you are looking at 20 yards a point and 6 points for a TD, you may want to think about starting Ward instead.
^ Start Northcutt over any Baltimore WR not named Mason.10/21/2007 11:58:01 AM |

i picked up faulk on wednesday because i knew about maroney and morris. i don't like the fact that he'll probably get vultured on the goal line, but he'll get most of the between the 20s rushing. 10/21/2007 12:02:05 PM |

^if that means that you are starting McNabb, thats all good, just know that he will not have a great game today. He will be decent, but Campbell will get you 250 and 2-3 scores.
I really like Campbell this week, and expect both Randel El and Cooley to get TD's this week. 10/21/2007 12:14:09 PM |

starting 3 WR's
2 fairly definite: boldin crayton
1 more from: holmes calvin johnson curry
i asked this earlier but after more thought, holmes is playing at the best pass defense in the league. i am also playing against big ben this week. right now i still have holmes goin, but i'm tempted to throw calvin in there.
last minute thoughts?
also, i would still start faulk at flex position. he is still sure to get carries and they're playing the worst rush defense in the league.

Crayton could have a big day. Boldin will be fine as long as he is back to healthy. Holmes wouldn't be a bad option because Bailey and Bly are roughed up. 10/21/2007 12:36:39 PM |
ncWOLFsu Gottfather FTL 12586 Posts user info edit post |
yeah i mean i'm definitely going crayton and boldin.
the main question was holmes or calvin, keeping in mind i'm playing big ben. it would suck if i start holmes and then ben throws three td's to tight ends and meanwhile calvin johnson has a big day.
i dunno, it's a tossup at this point. 10/21/2007 12:40:01 PM |

LudaChris All American 7946 Posts user info edit post |
Hmmm...Cincy's D is terrible, so I'd probably go Thomas Jones. Najeh wouldn't be a bad play either against Denver's terrible run D and the fact he has 3/4 of the Pitt rushing TD's this year. 10/21/2007 12:44:51 PM |

ok i went with holmes.
further examination reveals that while denver may be ranked #1 in pass D, that has a lot to do with how terrible they are at defending the run. in reality, they have 4 interceptions and 7 touchdowns allowed while tampa bay has 7 interceptions and 5 touchdowns allowed. 10/21/2007 12:56:26 PM |
