Of course lower level teams have lower home attendance, that's why they're still lower level.

You could keep all the same bowls and add one week to the end of the season. Instead of having the BCS bowls next week they would be this week and then the semis would be next week and the championship on like 17th. I'm pretty sure that is only adding two games because we already have 4 bcs bowls and a championship. The semis would be the only thing added. There will only be 2 teams that play 2 extra games and 4 teams that play 1 extra game and I'm sure student athletes rather compete and have a tight schedule than not compete and have an easy schedule.

The semis are played at rotating bcs sites.

Wow synapse brought back a name that I haven't seen on here in years in the daire. i think the influence that tenuta has on our defense is overstated b/c people hate mike archer and refuse to give him credit for anything.

i am happy that we won the bowl game, and im definitely not trying to take away anything from us winning 6 out of the last 8 games to get to where we are today...

i just dont think there's going to be much of a step up overall in the program unless we start doing some serious recruiting. we dont have the guns & depth to go and win 10+ games a year.

5 straight wins over UNC, and a second 8+ win season after losing a Heisman candidate QB. Running a spotless program contrasted to that circus at UNC. Dude can pick his retirement date as far as I'm concerned. Maybe one of these days we can hire an SEC assistant that knows how to pay for recruits without getting caught, but I'm happy with this level of success for the foreseeable future.

We lose TJ Graham, Jay Smith, George Bryan, Quentin Payton and Steven Howard from the receiving corps.
But we get Mario Carter, Asa Watson, Palmer and Bryan Underwood back, with Flowers taking off his redshirt.
IMHO, the receiving corps next year is a very optimistic looking question mark.

It looks the same in the LB corps and DL. Losing lots of guys, but returning lots of guys with experience and talent at the same time.
Secondary, QB, RBs, Oline and specialists should easily be Solid if not great (in descending order of strength?).
We should be at least an 8-9 win team next year. possibly 10+ with Manning (please don't hire an agent and just test the water before coming back for another year!

The year after that... I don't know if we will make a bowl. We lose a ton of important guys after this next year.

Edit: I looked up the rules. My understanding is that (assuming the Manning draft rumor is true), as long as he does not hire an agent or pull any dwight jones-esque crap, he can withdraw from the draft and return to State, as long as he does so before January 18th. So he can't wait until draft day to decide to come back, but he can still return after declaring.

excuses are for losers. david amerson was an underclassman this year. so is like half of LSU's defense

all I know is that our defense blew prior to tenuta arriving and it still isn't all that hot even with him here. i'm not saying the guy is some genius coach but I think he's at least passable, which I'm not convinced of our current DC, and if he leaves I expect we'll be in trouble again.
