ok, so i declined the trade from earlier, and he re-offered with:
I get: Meachem and Ricky Williams
I give: Davone Bess
I like Bess, but he's on my bench, and so would RW and RM, but I got 2 open roster spots. I think I might take it just for the hell of it 10/27/2010 9:19:38 AM |

I like Cassell because of a more balanced offense and the opponent has a weaker defense. Fitz has a bigger upside but Cassell is more likely to have less mistakes.
Witten or Hernandez?

Witten. Hes been playing well lately, weaker match up, and a back up QB is probably going to look at his TE a lot. 10/27/2010 11:17:08 AM |

Got offered this trade this morning....any thoughts? I give: Flacco and Marshawn Lynch I get: Ochocinco and Matt Forte
My QBs are Orton and Flacco (been starting Orton, but Flacco's heating up lately) My RBs are Chris Johnson, Torain, Moreno My WRs are Mike Williams (SEA), Hakeem Nicks, Brandon Marshall, Calvin Johnson, Amendola, Manningham.
I have 2 RB spots 2 WR spots and 1 RB/WR spot.
I'm leaning yes, but just curious about other opinions. 10/27/2010 11:34:10 AM |

I would probably stay put, you're essentially trading bench players for other bench players. But in this case you lose your insurance policy if Orton gets injured 10/27/2010 12:10:51 PM |

Since when is Matt Forte a bench player?
Also Orton has a bye in week 9, so you'll want to keep Flacco for another 2 weeks at least, then make the trade. You may want to stay put. I like Matt Forte but you obviously don't need Ocho. 10/27/2010 12:45:13 PM |

^ and ^^...I would think Forte would probably take over my RB/WR spot. And Ochocinco really is just a throw in since he won't be starting for me. As far as the QB situation, I could pick up a decent QB. Mark Sanchez, Stafford, Kitna are all available.

Anyone ever tried drafting all players with the same bye week, so you basically sacrifice one week, but have full strength for the rest of the season?
I tried it once, and and it would have worked, except the players I drafted sucked 10/27/2010 5:55:51 PM |

Seems like I come here every week with a running back question, so why stop now:
Pick 2:
Steven Jackson v Car Torain v Det Thomas Jones v Buffalo
Only reason I'm considering sitting Jackson is the surgery that he had on his finger on Monday.
Also, would anybody recommend starting Hines Ward over Randy Moss on Sunday? 10/27/2010 7:33:22 PM |

since the end of his rookie season
he has Chris Johnson, Ryan Torain and Knowshon Moreno - all of whom I would start over Forte at this point. Forte is way too feast or famine for me, any running back with more receiving yards than rushing yards is trouble10/27/2010 7:39:32 PM |

^yardage is yardage in my league, true for his team maybe a bench player, but not in a 10-team league where you can start 20-30 RB's, which i'd say is most leagues. take ALL his receiving points away and he's still top 30RB
you are correct, he doesn't need him

^^^ i'd go with jackson & torain.. but i dont trust jones. maybe base your Moss decision on who is QB for Minn.
ok guys, i'm seriously deadlocked on a trade here (14 team PPR):
I give AP I get Best, Torain & Cooley
i have a bunch of scrubs at RB2 (Forsett/R.Williams/D. Ward), and Carlson is sucking at TE for me. It seems pretty good since I can start all 3... but I'm nervous to part with AP (& consistency) for three guys who could excel or plummet.
thoughts? 10/27/2010 9:00:46 PM |
daddywill88 All American 710 Posts user info edit post |
The big downside of that one is that your trading away a lot of consistency. Best started hot and has cooled, however, the coaching staff has said that his turf toe is "in the rear view mirror" which is encourageing. I'm not sold on Torain yet. I never trust Shanahan with RBs, never know when he's gonna switch them out. Also, what happens when Portis comes back. That's my two cents, but the decision is yours.
Essentially, if you think AP + Ricky < Best + Torain + (Cooley - Carlson) every week from here on out then do the trade.
This seems like a no brainer to me, but maybe I'm forgetting something:
I get Frank Gore I give Greg Jennings and LaGarret Blount
The guy is a huge Tampa fan. Yall think he knows something I don't about Blount?
Here's my RBs and WRs for reference: D. Williams, M. Turner, R. Mathews, J. Best, L. Blount, G. Jennings, B. Lloyd, D. Bowe, J. Knox, S. Holmes.
We start 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR

^ haha, i can't decide how i think they're gonna do.... ergh...
to me I agree that trade is a no-brainer. Even if Blount starts the rest of the year, I can't see why you'd start him over your current core of RBs. My only concern would be your diminished WR core, but judging by your depth, I'm guessing this is a 10 team league? Maybe you can grab a Steve Johnson, Mike Williams or Devone Bess off FA?
maybe you turn around and trade matthews or best to someone for a good WR.... good WRs are plentiful in all of my leagues this year.

yea 12 team league and RBs are harder to come by than WRs that's why I'm not too worried about losing a WR. We're talking this trade out and now we're debating who I'll give up, either Jennings or Lloyd. Which of those two would you rather hold onto? 10/27/2010 10:01:30 PM |

Who to start at QB (Eli on a bye)?
Fitzpatrick vs KC Kitna vs the horrible Jaguars
I had Favre at the beginning of the season, but dumped his ass. He is still available too.
I am leaning towards Fitz and his hot hand. 10/28/2010 8:28:08 AM |

meh- I wouldn't trust him going against KC (who was able to shut down peyton earlier this year, mind you)
Kitna is a rough pick too (simply because you never know what to expect out of him)- he can air the fuck out of the ball, but he can also turn it over (and that dallas o-line isn't helping anyone). Who is on waivers that you could pick up? And does your league value yds or td's more for qb's? I'd probably have to go with Kitna in this situation, but just my opinion there 10/28/2010 11:47:56 AM |

Just accepted a trade where I give:
Roethlisberger/Shonn Greene
FOR
Dwayne Bowe/Marshawn Lynch
10-team, PPR league
Aaron Rodgers is my starter, and I picked up Fitzpatrick to play during GB's bye in week 10 (Buffalo will be playing Detroit that week). I needed to upgrade my receivers now that Collie and Desean Jackson are hurting. My starters this week before the trade are Dez Bryant, Crabtree and Mike Williams. With Romo and Alex Smith hurting, I don't trust Bryant and especially Crabtree as much now.
I'm pretty set at RB with MJD, LeSean McCoy and Peyton Hillis, so Lynch is an upgrade on the bench over Greene for me. 10/28/2010 12:23:57 PM |

I just got MJD in a trade (McCoy and Celek), but with everyone else's matches and McFadden finally being back to 100% or almost there I feel like I should keep him on my bench this week 10/29/2010 2:11:49 PM |

Best option for 2nd Flex Spot: Meachem v Steelers, Green-Ellis v Vikings, or Spiller @ KC 10/29/2010 11:47:57 PM |
JP All American 16807 Posts user info edit post |
^man, tough call. I guess I would go with Meachem
At the moment, I have my RBs Peterson and Lynch starting, and using Beanie Wells in the flex spot. However, I am trying to decide which WRs to start this week. Need to start 2 (or 3 with one in the flex if anyone thinks Wells isn't a good start)--PPR league:
S. Moss (DET) S. Johnson (KC) M. Williams (OAK) Jennings (NYJ)
Definitely using Santana Moss in one slot, as he is up against Detroit. However, I am hesitant to start Jennings since Revis should be all over him with Driver out. Was considering going with Steve Johnson (vs. VC) in the 2nd WR slot. I also have Mike Williams (SEA) going against Oakland.
In other news, I just dropped Cutler for Vincent Jackson (I have Big Ben at QB). Hopefully it doesn't come back to bite me in the ass, though now I have 6 WRs (DeSean Jackson is also on my bench)!! 10/30/2010 2:24:31 AM |

this Steven Jackson finger issue is gonna hurt me... luckily in one league I have Torain and LT I can start over him, but if he doesn't play, I will have to start tolbert in his place (which is a big drop in potential, and there is no one on waivers who is any better) 10/30/2010 12:58:51 PM |
