When are we ever going to learn that eye witness accounts are not very reliable? Every empirical study shows them to be horribly flawed even when people know they are going to be asked to recall details. People's memory and ability to accurately discern what is happening is not particularly good, but we give it so much weight because we all think we know what happened or we think we remember things correctly. Even when witnesses aren't actively lying they're still not very accurate.

That's one of the reasons I'm so in favor of video being captured whenever there is an interaction with law enforcement.

I mean yeah that is fucked up there was no reason for that. You ask someone to show you their license and then when they reach back into their vehicle for it you shoot them. I get that he made a quick move and what not but at some point cops have to stop shooting first and asking questions later. One of the big problems seems to be the cops starting a situation with people at such close range that they have no time to react to anything.

So apparently wilsons boss, the first person he talked to after killing brown, the person Wilson claimed he didn't talk to about the shooting, the person who advised Wilson to only talk to the Union rep and lawyer and not his boss or to file a report, was one of the main perpetrators of the racist email forwards.

Even if Wilson did blatantly shoot brown for racism, it doesn't look like this would have mattered -- he would have been protected anyway.
