Quote : | "Lumines Saves the Planet Proceeds from latest downloadable content pack going to charity. by Rob Burman, IGN UK UK, June 22, 2007 - Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the creator of Lumines, has always been a free-thinker and pioneer but no one could have predicted that with his next raft of downloadable skins for Lumines Live! he'd choose to donate part of the proceeds to climate protection charities.
That's right, from June 27 if you buy the Tokyo Club Mix Pack (aka SOS Charity Campaign Pack) for 350 Microsoft Points, you can rest easy about your carbon footprint for a while because you're donating to non-government organisations that are fighting climate change.
Contained within the pack are four tunes from the "hottest DJs, artists and VJs" from the Tokyo club scene, including a remix of Heavenly Star by Genki Rockets, House66 by Sugiurum, 4x4 Bricks by Techriders and Cosmic Humming by Muku.
Mizuguchi's band Genki Rockets is also taking part in the Live Earth concert in July - an event organised by environment-loving politician Al Gore to raise awareness about global warming.
Mizuguchi was delighted to be involved. "I was overjoyed and surprised when I received the news," he said. "It was only a year ago that I started working on Genki Rockets with a simple concept in mind - in 30 years from now, what kind of song would a 17-year-old girl from outer space who has never landed on Earth sing to those living on Earth?"
If you hate the environment and girls from outer space, then there's always the option of getting a Lumines booster pack for 600 Microsoft Points, which doesn't include any donation to charitable causes and is also available from June 27. It features 20 skins however, some of which have never been seen before in a Lumines title." |

so im reading darkness reviews...this was mentioned
Quote : | "Darkness powers aside, the shooting action is great, if not particularly revolutionary. Auto-targeting makes aiming in the heat of a firefight a relative breeze, and you'll eventually have a wide array of weapons to choose from, starting with a pair of pistols and working up to automatic shotguns and assault rifles. Most of the weapons can be used for close-up execution moves, too, which deliver a random visual payoff - like, say, a gun shoved into a bad guy's mouth and fired, or a quick rifle-butt followed by a spray of bullets to the face - while cleanly killing a target in one move." |

it has better textures on the 360 and the anti-aliasing makes it look even better. also, little touches stand out on the 360 that you will not see on the xbox like cracks in the pavements on the highways.

Finally beat RAAM on Gears
One of those weird things where you try for like 3 hours and get frustrated as hell
Then come back 2 days later and beat him on like the the 3rd try and you wonder how it was ever that hard
Started Hardcore afterwards, like treetwista said earlier, its not any harder than I remember Casual being, but thats probably because I've gotten better at the game 6/26/2007 5:51:59 PM |

the darkness is bad ass.
i will give a brief summary of what i think (out of 10):
graphics-8.5 (hd all right, good textures, but could have been better) animations-7.5 (the actual animation of the characters' movements, not the played-out executions) sound-9.0 (great sounds - could have used more explosions and things to shoot to blow up) value-8.5 (for $60,with slightly above par replay value. the collectibles and tv shows are good bonuses) enjoyment-10 ('the darkness powers' sounds lame but are a superb adaption to and great fps)
overall (not an average) - 9.0
the balancing of the Jackie's abilities and the enemies is top notch. it seems that this game has poor ai - which it does, but on purpose. even though your enemies are dumb at times, they tend to be numerous, and come right at you, a lot of the time. this is great way to balance out the fact that your darkness powers, and guns work better in close quarters. also, the fact that bullets are somewhat limited; its easily to run out of bullets in the game, if you don't watch it, two ways, one by shooting enemies far away from you, it takes more bullets to kill them, even when they fall to the ground they will get back up. the second way is more obvious, which is just plain out being a bad shot, coupled with what i think is a small reticle area, which is another reason i think that i think bullets were limited because you save ammo big time by performing executions with one or two shots or killing an enemy that 10 feet away from you with a shot or two. this is a very intimidating game and presents a unique fps challenge. i am playing it on hard by the way.

i mean im not a gamer nerd, but thats the way the AI works in GoW, at least in my experience6/26/2007 10:28:50 PM |
cyrion All American 27139 Posts user info edit post |
^ it is that way with any game. you'd think you'd get better by practicing, but by that time you are either super frustrated or rushing because you've been doing it so long. you take a break and can go back, using all that practice, calm and ready to go. thats how i see it.
^^ yeah, cuz it runs on an emulator so you need to store some emulator info or something. 6/26/2007 10:34:07 PM |

i dont have very many powers right now, i can only summon the heads but they dont attack or anything yet, they just devour hearts...and i can summon one darkling
do you like point at place with the crosshairs and click X to send the darkling there?
i assume as i get the other 3 darkness powers is when i can control a snake arm and eat people or whatever 6/27/2007 12:18:05 PM |
