outside of NC and ESPN, there aren't a ton of people that give 2 shits about this rivalry. its built up by those around the program to be much more than it is. But we're use to that around here. Everything about UNC is built up to be much more than it actually is. UNC is hype, NCSU is substance.

UNC has surprisingly done well against shitty teams this year. They've been consistently mediocre...beating teams they should beat and losing to teams they should lose to.

Hopefully they can buck that trend today.

^^^^^^ You're right. As someone who grew up in South Carolina and has lived in other states, no recognizes the unc duse rivalry other than espn. I didn't even really think of unc as a though team until 2008. They've been good, but nc is like its own universe for college basketball. The rivalry, unc, and even the acc are overrated.
