Division hopes rest on winning out and NO losing twice...gonna be a stretch.

there are a few scenarios where we fall out of the playoffs at 10-6 (including one where we lose out to Philly on conference wins tiebreaker), so we need to focus on winning twice in the next three games. we really need the Jets game so we have a margin for error in case the Saints bring their Katrina game next week, otherwise we have to win our last two. it'd be nice to have that extra win we should have vs Buffalo

I don't agree with this. If we play our A game we will beat anyone in the NFL. It's unrealistic to expect them to come out like gangbusters every week. We obviously didn't play well last Sunday. I fully expect them to atone for that performance in 7 days.

It also helps that the officiating changes in the playoffs to a more physical style. That plays right into our mindset on both sides of the ball.

you missed the qualifier

losing to NO twice puts us at the 5 seed, which assuming SF winds up as the 6 seed, means we're likely going to NO again in round 2, assuming we can win in the WC round. that's bound to get into the player's heads.

if we play like we can, we can get that #2 seed and it will be moot. but if the NO game repeats itself, and that mindset gets stuck, we won't be getting far in the playoffs

We match up better against Seattle than New Orleans for sure.

Seattle has a terrible offensive line and we can get a ton of pressure on RW. New Orleans takes our D-line out of the game with the quickstrike offense which both New England and New Orleans have shown is the optimal way to attack us.

Seattle has a great defense but our offense has enough ball control to keep us in the game. We're not built to compete in a shootout with New Orleans.
