I too am pleased with recent developments. But given the DOJ's findings, I feel more anger about the lack of indictment handed down against Darren Wilson. He was part of a system of systematic racism.

Also all these resignations are people saving face, no real punishments have been dished out other than embarrassment by being named in the report.

I understand that, but the absence of any video/picture evidence would make it hard to prosecute Wilson, it would really be the credibility of the witnesses vs. a police officer, and the police would win every time.

I also think it was a "trade off" the DOJ made, so that detractors couldn't accuse them of bias as much. They go easy on Wilson, to gain the credibility in the eye of the public on the report of the broader issues. Fox News couldn't say "Obama's DOJ and Eric Holder just hate white people!" because someone could say "if that's true, why let Wilson off?".

There was a point in time where the DOJ wouldn't have been accused of playing the "race card" for a report like this, but unfortunately that's not the world we live in anymore. I don't hold this strategy against them.

When the news articles first came out they claimed systemic discrimination, but the official report was yet to be released and everything they cited (that I saw) could easily be dismissed as correlation rather than causation. I have not had a chance to read the report since it was released, so I'm genuinely curious to get the opinion of someone who has read it.
