"did anyone else have a hard time seeing alexis bledel as a prostitute?"

I think what you have to consider is that a prostitute in Sin City isn't nearly the same thing as a prostitute in the real world.

I thought Bledel was absolutely spot on as that particular character and gave one of the most complete performances of the movie.

"Robert Rodriguez’s latest film, Sin City, tells three interweaving stories based on Frank Miller’s comic books, which could lead to an interesting DVD extra.

At a press conference last month, the director suggested releasing the film on a two-disc DVD, with the first disc containing the theatrical film and the second containing the three stories in separate cuts. At about 45 minutes each, the individual stories would be longer than presented in the film. "

Quote :
"Since Rodriguez shot the film on green screen, he wants to include extended takes of raw footage showing the directors working with the actors. He gave an example of a shot Quentin Tarantino directed.

“You actually get to see Quentin come into frame and give [the actors] direction,” he said. “People are going to learn a lot from that … an uninterrupted 16 minutes, and you’ll see pieces that we used.” "

Just saw this last night

I wasn't big on Frank Miller's stuff but seeing this movie has certainly piqued my interest

Mickey Rourke's character was great - did anyone notice that he and Jackie Boy had similar voices? I thought they all sounded like the "As Seen On TV" products guy who reads the toll-free number.

"June 30, 2005 - IGN recently received a deluge of email about what bonus materials and extra features are included on the August 16 release of Robert Rodriguez' Sin City. The disc, as some predicted, will offer only a bare-bones release of the film, including three sound formats (English DTS 5.1, English Dolby Digital 5.1, and French) and a behind-the-scenes featurette.

Rodriguez previously promised a deluxe DVD release for the film that includes a number of innovative features, including the next installment of his 10 Minute Film School series, and a programming option which separates and restores each story to its original length. But these will not be available until late 2005 or '06 at the earliest; while no release date has been set for the deluxe version, one expects the DVD will release during fourth quarter '05 to capitalize on the holiday shopping season.

Stay tuned for further updates on the Sin City DVD, the forthcoming sequel, and Rodriguez' other projects.

I should've known. Typical profit-maximizing bullshit.

I require 12 hours of commentary and extras three days after a film's opening.

"Jodie Foster has ripped into Robert Rodriguez's Sin City because she found the film offensive. While many critics raved about the director's adaptation of Frank Miller's comic book, Foster admits it's one of the most recent films she switched off after renting it on DVD. Foster rants, "That was so painfully cartoonish I was offended." And she admits that she doesn't enjoy watching films based around abduction and child molestation - as the mother of two young boys. She tells newspaper USA Today, "I don't know how you enjoy or laugh about a child abduction and molestation. What part of that sentence is funny? I can't get beyond that. I don't know if everyone understands the impact of that movie's message.""

Jodie Foster's a bitch.

Did she watch the same movie? Because I don't remember laughing about child abduction or molestation. I guess if you don't treat as some heavy-handed thing it's 'laughing' at it.

I wonder if Jodie Foster realizes that most people who have seen the movie Nell laugh at her portrayal of a social retard
