Nice. Some of the music in the trailer after he discovers the black suit sounds like the theme for "The Nine" in the LotR.

Sandman, Harry Osborn, and Venom!?!?!

Based on the clips released, it seems Harry doesn't pose much threat in the film, but really.. are they just loading it on or what?

i was afraid that venom wouldn't show up till the very end, but it looks like they have at least one battle. harry just pisses me off cause he's so damn stubborn, so i wouldn't mind him dying off quickly

"Venom Kicks Spidey's...
Source: MTV March 28, 2007

Talking to MTV, Topher Grace says Eddie Brock/Venom will have his way with Spidey in Spider-Man 3:

"You like Spider-Man," Topher Grace grinned last week, "but isn't it about time that somebody kicked his ass?" Now, with only six weeks left until the release of "Spider-Man 3," the man who will soon be known as Venom is promising we'll finally see Peter Parker getting pummeled. "He kicks Spider-Man's ass," Grace grinned, reflecting on his black-suited supervillain. "It was interesting, and it was hard. I had to do a lot of working out, which is very new to me. ... I play a bad guy, so that was a very different experience for me, acting-wise." Cast alongside series stars Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and James Franco, the "That '70s Show" star insisted he'll be right there in line with the rest of us come May 4. "I'm the guy that's going to be driving around to theaters opening weekend to watch it," he smiled. "I used to collect the comic books, and I'm pretty geeked out about it."

Spider-Man 3 opens on May 4."

This is a problem I have generally with comic book films: they pack too many bad guys they dont allow for character development.

I am very excited about hearing Spidey getting his Ass Kicked. This movie is going to Rock. This summer is going to have a bunch of movies I have to see.

Spider-Man has gotten his ass kicked in every movie so far, so that statement is kind of generic. I just hope venom doesn't get killed off or something in this movie alone, he needs to come back.

In the first Spidey, he got beat a lil at the end, but def did not get stomped out. I actually did not like Spidey One and thought he was portrayed as weak pussy.

Part 2 was good, and yeah he got beat up but the scene that took most his energy and made him pass out was when he stopped the train. He hardly got beat up in 2nd film. He took some good blows, got slammed a round a bit, and had a wall fall on him...but he did not get a good 1 on 1 jaw dropping Beatdown.

I hope in this one that there are some good 1 on 1 scenes where he is actually getting damage from the villian. I want to see him get slammed, punched, and beat down from the villain not just outside incidents.

That is what I meant. I loved part 2, and look fwd to part 3.

i thought the coolest part in the second one was when he used all his might and power to stop that train...it reminded me of when superman killed doomsday with a blow so hard it used up the rest of his power

Peter Parker did not fully develop his powers after obtaining them for quite some time. And the Green Goblin battle if I remember correctly from the Amazing Spider-Man series was an ass whooping for him to answer the wuss comment on the first movie.

^Yeah I agree....I thought it showed that he was "new" to his powers and would take time to become more proficient. I just hated seeing him look wimpy...but I understood why they did it that way.

"Will Spidey Land on the Great White Way?
Nerds, break out your most indignant, Comic Book Guy gasp. Come July, your favorite leotard-clad superhero will show off his acting, singing and dancing chops in a staged reading of a new Spider-Man musical. Helmed by Julie Taymor (the Tony-winning genius behind Broadway's The Lion King) and with songs by U2's Bono and The Edge (what, Larry Mullen Jr. was too busy?), the piece will swing into New York a little more than two months after Spider-Man 3 bows at the box office. In addition to all the usual suspects and heroes, there will be a "geek chorus," which, according to the casting breakdown, consists of "three teenage boys and one girl who meet to ritualistically retell the greatest Spider-Man stories." At least they got the guy-to-girl geek ratio right. — Reporting by Raven Snook "

Not sure why they threw her in there. They pretty much abandoned that whole storyline by having Peter Parker growing up next door to Mary Jane. I mean it's fine, it doesn't subtract anything from the heart of the story, but why her throw her in this movie? Just seems pointless.

been without internet for over a week since my roomates are out of town and our network is down (shit is locked in their office)

anyways...

this past thursday I got to watch spiderman 3. ok ok...only the first hour and a half.and it was awesome. the best one yet.

the fight scenes/web-slinging scenes were infinately better.

plus, just as in any other spiderman movie, they always introduce the villians in a way that makes you feel sorry for them... that's the best kind of villian, one you can relate to.

I can't wait for the midnight showing so I can see how it ends.

Bruce Campbell is back in a very similar role, this time at a french restaurant, and of course it's hilarious. Actually, overall there were more funny scenes in this one than the others... and like I said I only got to see the first 90 minutes. Ohh, and I'm sure everyone will laugh at "emo spiderman" . When Venom merges with him his hair gets darker, and in one scene he looks in the mirror and flips his hair forward, almost over one of his eyes.. i lolled.

anyways, the internet i'm stealing from the neighbors keeps cutting out, so I will post while I still can.

Raleigh Grande is getting 5 prints of this movie... that's one every 40 minutes.
Crossroads is getting 6 I believe. insane. Looks like they are really trying to win that record back that Pirates took last year.

ugg, that sucks.

Venom has to be better than both, purely based on relesed pictures and clips.

Rotten Tomatoes had:

90% for SP1
93% for SP2

-those are real high for movies if you follow the website. even with SP3 only @ 73%, that is still very good these days. and honestly, who gives a rats ass about what other people think. go to movies with your own expectations and excitement, dont let others judge it and ruin it for you.

My bet is that the deal with Venom has to do with them casting Toby rather than some hollywood bad boy such as ledger or phillipe.
