I'm playing through the first time as a total good guy. no stealing, no killing innocents, no law breaking of any kind (unless a "good" mission requires it).

You guys are making me wish I had played through as a bad-ass the first time around. I think it will be much more rewarding the 2nd go-around though.

^that's what i did with that Fable game.

but i've heard so many things about how long this game is so i figured i'd only play it once. i'll have to see if i feel like creating a new character after i beat it.

no idea, man, sorry. I'm not even sure if Bruma was the city that it was in.

I can tell you how to make serious cash though, especially if you're a thief.

Books. Books I've found have the highest value per weight ratio of any item in the game. The most books are found in the Mage guild hall, along with other things like mortar and pestles and stuff like that. In one night if you're lucky you can make about 1000 gold just grabbing up all the books in the mage guild hall and selling them to your fence.

When you join the mages guild do you get to keep everything in the guild? When I joined the fighters guild everything in the lodge was available for free. all sorts of armor and weapons and everything. I had to make 3 trips to the local shop to sell it all but I didn't even have to steal it, it was just readily available after I joined. I could even lock-pick the locked cases and take the display items without getting in trouble.

Can we get this moved to entertainment now.

I cringe at the thought of seeing a 100+ page thread about this shit hanging around the top of tech talk for the next year.

Man, finding the cure for vampirism sucks balls. At least the way I did it does. I can only travel at night and I had to go see to this chick in a part of the map I had never been before, so no fast traveling there. By the time I got there it was daylight already. I had to break into her house just to talk to her and I can't go outside because I can't find a cave/dungeon anywhere close enough before I die from sun exposure. I can't fast-wait inside her house because I am intruding, so I am literally waiting until the sun goes down so I can fast travel to get what she wants in order to get the cure. I've leveled up a lot since I've been here at least just jumping around her house and restoring lost health with my magic.

*sigh* at least I can fast travel back to town once the sun goes down.

Am I the only one who isn't a vampire? I guess I haven't gotten that far in any quests yet. I've been doing all the thief guild ones though.

Oh and PHAT LEWT Location:

Go to the castle in Burma. Behind the Countess is a display case that is a "very hard" lockpick. Inside it is a book that sells for 750g. There is also a set of samurai swords in a display case next to that but it's harder to get to because of the guard's LOS.

Castles are very good places to steal for loot in general, if anyone is looking to make cash.

How in the hell am I suppose to kill these imps inside of the Oblivion gate at Kvatch? Man, they are killing me left and right... it is actually ruining the experience for me, since I have been here for over and hour and just just owned by them. I only have level 2, do i need to be a higher level or something?

^Yeah man, I did it around your level. It is going to be hard as hell. Basically what I did was glitch and exploit and hide behind stuff, regenerate, kill them one at a time. Took awhile but it worked.

i did it at lvl 2 with no problems at all. i just shot those bitches with a sneak attack arrow and killed them in 1-2 more shots. the fireballs are easy as hell to dodge and if you dont let them get close no biggy. if you are a warrior or something it might be slightly harder.

I'm in the same boat.. I have a feeling I'll never get out of that cave unless I go level up somewhere else and come back later.. I'm also only a level 2.

I've tried grabbing the book and running.. freeing the prisoner, grabbing the book and running.. and freeing the prisoner, grabbing the book and fighting..

I spend hours and hours trying to hunt down little fuckers to kill them and get their damn lockpicks and then I have to try to remember where the hell I needed to use them in the first place. And I cant steal shit, and I have had at the most maybe 250 gold at one time.

Well to get rid of vampirism you need 5 grand soul gems. after 5 hours of dungeon hunting, I now have one of them. I heard you can buy one at each of the mages guilds so that's my task for tomorrow. The upside of that I guess is during that 5 hours I leveled up 2 times, maxed out my strength (I can now carry 500 worth of stuff) and found about 15,000 gold worth of stones and weapons. So once I get rid of the vampire curse and can talk to shopkeepers again I'll be rich.

Two things when you're starting off.

1. Do it at night, less people out and the people in the houses are sleeping.

2. keep a close eye on your "eye". only grab for an item when the eye is faded. that means you are out of view. make sure you're sneaking as well.

I just stole 500 gold out of the arena lock box... hah.

stealing is really easy. just sneak the whole time, and walk slow. always do it at night, and learn how to pick locks. (i learned from the tips given in this thread. the trick is to keep hitting up on the spring until it makes a different sound. it's very subtle, but if you know what to listen for it's easy to tell the difference. you press 'a' after you hear the different spring sound and it works.

my friend told me about that. i just lvld to journeyman lockpicking so it isnt as bad. im not super great at it but i dont lose too many usually. i keep a bunch on me so it isnt a problem.

my vampirism finally hit the gay levels (though 3 minutes of invis + night vision is nice). i fed and it popped right back up to 75 in 2 minutes.

while this game can be frustrating at parts, the things you guys are complaining about are really not one of them. i mean if you cant get past the first oblivion gate or break into a house you are doing something wrong, it isnt the game.

things like homosexual vampirism is worth whining about, especially when you worked so hard to get personality or speechcraft up.

Ok, got past it last night, join the knights with jauffre, get some gear from there. I was using the 2 handed katana. The main room with all the people in it, go there AFTER you kill the first guy, morrow, then walk down the hall to teh other rooms, kill all them. there is a ring that give your strength, thow that bad boy on. Back to the main room. I then cast protection, got near the column, cast a skeleton for them to flag on, and hacked 3 down, ran away casting heal on myself. Run though the door you came in and heal-heal-heal until they run thought the door after you, slaughter them at the door.

The vampire thing, sounds like you should restart at one of your saves.

At Kavatch, I went through it as a lvl 1 battlemage. The key is to keep everyone that is helping you alive, and go slow, try to kill them 1 at a time like everyone said.
