Hah, they do that all the time on the Engineering route. They don't understand that it only stops in 5 places--nowhere else. They're like "WTF?!?" And everyone laughs at them.

I seriously think this lady was slow in the head. she's lucky the driver was nice, there's a mean driver who prolly wouldn't have explained it to her

occasionally people will get on at the gym or even the reynolds deck and ask if the bus goes to the library ... it does but only after making a long loop to varsity dr. they'd really be better off walking

That guy is fuckin' psycho man, one time he was like, "The bus is now coming to a stop, Make sure you have all your bags, coats, hats, cellphones, laptops, accessories together, exit through the rear" like this was an airplane or greyhound or something after a long trip.

But as for people not moving to the back, it is pretty gay when some standing guy doesnt move from his spot beside the rear door (which is more like the middle of the bus) and the standing people end up backing up and being packed like sardines into the front half of the bus. If that douche would move to the back of the bus everybody could stand with space instead of pretty much breathing down each others necks, so it doesnt really bother me if people yell to move back.

Yeah he did that one time as we were pulling up to DH Hill when there were about 8-10 people on the bus and I was the only one sitting close enough to hear him. I thought he was fuckin psycho too.

The lady with pink highlights is the best frat court driver, by far. definitely beats the guy who runs red lights and taps the accelerator

^no way.

she's ALWAYS late, drives like a nut, and has refused to make stops. sometimes she talks on her cell when she's driving. even though the "exit to the rear" guy is weird, he is the best driver on that route.

I haven't seen anyone else post this, so I guess I shall. (Mainly in an act of procrastination to all the work that needs to get done.) There was a focus group held at the College of Textiles with Starr Wimberly and another one of the Wolfline/NCSU Transportation dept folks (forgot her name). It was mainly to try to work out some of the kinks a lot of students were finding/feeling about the Southeast Loop. This was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving when we had the meeting, and we heard back from them last week.

Quote :
"Below are some details of the changes to the routes serving the Textiles building on Centennial Campus:

1. The current Southeast Loop (SEL) route will be adjusted such that upon entry into Centennial Campus, it will stop at Textiles on the way in, and stop at the Engineering buildings on the way out (reverse what it does now).

2. The SEL will also run up Morrill, to Cates, and then up Dan Allen. It will not serve Western Blvd.

3. The SEL will run 3 buses in the morning and evening hours and be reduced to 2 during the middle of the day.

4. During the mid-day, one of the SEL buses will become a route that goes from Textiles to Main Campus via Western Blvd and Pullen Rd."

So those changes will be happening for next semester.

I really hate the Wolflink Shuttle because it waits so long between stops. I get off at the stop after the main Wolf Village stop and most of the time I just get off at the main one and can walk home before the bus gets moving again.

Lately the Varsity bus has been coming to my stop either 5 minutes early or 10 minutes late. It sucked today because it was so cold.

There's a frat court driver........

Coming out from campus there are two stops on frat court, then one after you cross Varsity at the corner of varsity and Marcom street. This driver WILL NOT stop there. You pull the chord after the second frat court stop, and he stops at the interestection and is like, did you want the last one or the Crest street? So i said, no I want the one across the street, after you turn onto Varsity. So he says, you get off here, and lets me off at the intersection. so I have to Walk across the road. He's now done it twice....

I realize it's not that big a deal to walk the extra 25 yards..... But there is a STOP on the side of the road, I want to get off at that STOP, not sooner where i have to cross an intersection.. It didn't matter to me the first time, I thought the guy was just dumb, but he did it again today and there was like 4 of us on the bus that all live by that stop and we were all waiting to get off like WTF is this guys deal.

That's why everyone unloads then. It's really the only #7 stop aside from the Carmichael stop where the bus sits and waits. Although that's true of any bus going by Wolf Village, Textiles or Carmichael, really. Besides, walking to anywhere in Wolf Village or around it is fairly minimal effort (I live in B and the second stop is a lot closer, but there's no reason for me to be that lazy).

I live on Jackson Street so I like having that little extra drive up the hill when it's cold, but it's no big deal most of the time.

I'm mostly pissed at the fact that the Varsity bus is supposed to come every 15 minutes but ends up being more like every 20 to 25 minutes.

for the frat ct driver, here's my suggestion. next time it happens, make a note of the bus number (found at the front of the inside of the bus and on the exterior of the bus). if you're heading home, or as soon as you get to a computer, send an email to starr wimberly. tell her what happened - the bus number, the number of time it's happened, the route, the stop, etc. the people at the dept of transportation are pretty willing to work with the students and the problems they have.

He just did it again to this guy. The guy was pretty pissed and I don't blame him since there is a stop there and every other Frat Ct. driver does stop there.

This morning, I think it was 4116, only half of the back door closed and he didn't notice it so we rode around with half the back door open letting in all the frickin cold air.

Ten week summer classes do meet this week. It's next week they don't.
...Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week:
Quote :
"The following routes will run during
limited service Rt 6 Vet School, Rt 7 Wolflink Shuttle, and Rt 8
Southeast Loop.
Please visit the Wolfline website for detailed timetables during
limited service:
http://www2.acs.ncsu.edu/trans/transportation/wolfline/index.html
"

The buses are supposed to run whenever class is held, but apparently, that's not too important.

I wonder if the new buses will have cushioned seats. I always liked when I'd get on one of the cushioned seat buses.

Also to repost what I said on this page from page 1:

Quote :
"Has anyone ever felt like they were in a sitcom on the bus. it seems like i see the same cast of characters on there every now and then. they include:

-the sorority bitch (sometimes more than one)
-the ugly bitch
-the fat bitch that is the type to go to wendy's and order a 3/4 lb. burger with biggie sized fries and a biggie sized diet coke, b/c she believes that having the diet coke is helping her watch her weight
-the fraternity douche with the short khaki shorts (warm weather)/black northface jacket (cold weather) and sunglasses with croakies and boat shoes
-the homeless guy that either sits in the back corner or sits at the front and talks to the driver
-the weird guy
-the emo guy/girl
-the slacker pothead that's bitching about how hard his week ahead is even though he's majoring in something incredibly easy
-the awkwardly cute girl
-the old guy
-a chinese lady with a kid
-some ghetto lady with a kid
-the bitch that's always on her cell phone from the time she gets on till the time she gets off
-and last but not least the incredibly hot dream girl (like when Wayne from Wayne's World hears Dreamweaver when he sees Casandra the first couple of times)

i think my life is starting to feel like a Seinfeld episode
"

I wonder if there are any characters that can be added. I'll always remember riding the Wolfline in my days at State. A lot of other schools that did have bus lines didn't have ones as expansive as ours. Sophomore year I rode it to a party off of Blue Ridge, then caught the last stop back to campus. Everyone in my group was hammered, and so were the other people on the bus with us. I was really worried that one of my friends would end up throwing up on the bus, but thankfully he didn't. We did have to help him walk back to Sullivan though, where he and others would end up stealing some bottles of water out of the coke machine. One of my suite-mates and I went on up, while the others went to the drink machines. Apparently they were having trouble getting the machine to take the bills, and the ultra drunk guy just grabbed the side of the door to the machine and pulled it open. I guess he gained superhuman strength when he got drunk. The CA in the little office, didn't even try to stop them.

Fall 2007 Schedule out:

http://www2.acs.ncsu.edu/trans/transportation/wolfline/images/Fall/Fall07RouteMap.pdf

They are calling it "Carter Finley" instead of "Vet School" and "Greek Court" instead of "Fraternity Court"
otherwise looks pretty much the same.

New buses are running today (first day Ive seen them run).

Quite a different feeling, its only one step to get on and you are about car level in the first half of the bus, second level goes up another 2 steps. A/C is in the back so you can't see out the rear of the bus. Only 34 seats. Alot quiter and smoother ride, the ceiling is a foot taller. The bus route signs on the outside are alot bigger and more visible. Seats are lightly padded, face sideways.

Unfortunately, no hot gymnastic chicks painted on them

"Our new Spring '09 route information is posted at http://www.ncsu.edu/wolfline so please take a look (and more detail is in the "Announcements." We're making some night service improvements. All the routes except Rt. 4, Rt. 5 and Rt.11 are extended until approximately 10 p.m. Rt. 2 (serving Hillsborough Street/Wolf Village) will remain in service until approximately 3 a.m. (with service every 30 minutes). What this means is that night service will be available for most areas every 20 minutes until 10 p.m.

We also are changing a little bit of the route for Rt. 5 Varsity - pretty minor, but we think it will improve its on-time performance - sending it down Varsity Drive behind the Joyner Visitor Center versus Dan Allen through Greek Court."
