it means that albert hammond jr is the guitarist from the strokes and his album is 10x better than the latest strokes album.

pretty much, he horded all his hooks for his solo album

"what the fuck are these bands you people are naming"

you see, jeff, college kids like to be cool "scenesters" and name as many obscure bands as they possibly can to demonstrate they're not mainstream.

^no, it's because the albums are actually really good.

of the mainstream albums that come out, maybe 3 are worth listening to

i'm not saying they're not. you have to admit that people will overlook or downplay mainstream albums, and list obscure albums that really suck just to look cool.

^I don't think that's the case at all. I'm not saying that doesn't go on, but most of the "underground" albums are much more creative and don't have the marketing bullshit that goes along with the mainstream stuff. More art, less fluff. that's just my opinion though.

i hate to break it to you all...but project pats album is NOT the best album of the year

i way waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay disappointed...i mean you have no idea the expectations i had with this...its just too played out and mediocre

i mean i didnt expect him to reinvent himself or something but i was thinking there would be a couple instant classics on here...dont really think there are any classics on this cd

I'm not sure about the specific order yet, but my top three right now are:

Lupe Fiasco - Food and Liquor
The Clipse - Hell Hath No Fury
The Roots - Game Theory

I'm anticipating Nas' new album to join them.

I'm a little surprised that this hasn't been mentioned more -- I think this one comes closest to a successful follow-up to Odelay (if that makes any sense).

I loved Mewithoutyou -- Brother, Sister

i couldn't disagree more. beck made two great albums directly after odelay.

perhaps this is the best attempt to recreate odelay
