Benson should have a break out year in my opinion, he hasnt shown it yet but he should really show up this year and be a sleeper

Williams still has to beat Foster for teh top spot remember

Yeah, Williams at best will be splitting carries with Foster unless/until Foster gets hurt.

i know williams will split carries
but so will benson

i already have benson but i also have duckett and tatum bell on the bench as RBs
should i even bother dropping any of those guys (definitely no duckett though) to pick up williams?

tatum bell lost his starting job too so i was thinking about dropping him

QB's score a lot more than recievers, especially 2nd and 3rd recievers. Plus, recievers pop out of nowhere every season and can be picked up on the waiver wire.

Running backs are a different story, but the decent RB's will be mostly gone by the end of the first round and long gone by the end of the second anyway.

I figure I'll draft a RB or 2, then stockpile QB's in the middle rounds. They will make for good trade bait for teams that have only 1 starting QB.

hey what you guys think of this team, from my ten team family league:

QBs: Daunte Culpepper, Jake Plummer
RBs: Tiki Barber, Stephen Jackson, Dominic Rhodes, Chris Brown
WRs: Marvin Harrison, Santana Moss, Drew Bennet, Terry Glenn, Santonio Holmes
TEs: Heath Miller, Vernon Davis
Ks: Lawrence Tynes, Olindo Mare
Ds: San Diego, Miami

I'm fairly happy with it for the most part, I got Dominic Rhodes in the tenth round, is he starting? Addai was ranked higher than him for some reason but I thought Rhodes was the starter... plus both he and Chris Brown are in contract years so i'm hoping for good things from them.

looks like a good team.

From what I hear, Addai is a much better pass blocker, which gives him the edge in Indy's manning centered offense. If Rhodes can learn to protect Peyton he will start, if not he probably won't.

Thinking about making a trade with a guy in my league, I'm kinda hesitant but I think it's going to be a good trade for me.

I give him:
Jake Delhomme, QB
Terrell Owens, WR

In return I get:
Donovan McNabb, QB
Steven Jackson, RB

I don't really have a #2 RB(Tatum Bell, Wally Lundy, and Chris Brown) so I think Steven Jackson would be a great pick-up. Plus at WR I have Marvin Harrison and Chris Chambers with a third WR of either Reggie Brown, Deion Branch, or Andre Johnson.

The only reservation I have is that McNabb is coming off of an injury, in a tough division, and with limited threats offensively. Where on the other hand I think Delhomme is setup to have a great season with all the weapons surrounding him.

Any thoughts?

I would do that without a second thought, Stephen Jackson is a beast and has been underrated for the past couple of seasons. Now with Marshall Faulk gone he'll be a stud

my only question would be who else do you have at QB?

This was an auto-draft so my QB situation isn't great.

Other than Delhomme I have...

Leftwich, Vick, McNair, and Volek.

He actually proposed McNabb for Delhomme and I said no but countered with TO and Delhomme for McNabb and Jackson and he said he liked it but he would dwell on it a bit so hopefully he'll bite.

Plus he has Bulger as his second QB so he's no hard-up for a QB but he's a HUGE Delhomme fan.

4 QBs and a running back

This is my current squad:

QB - Marc Bulger, Rex Grossman
WR - Javon Walker, Rod Smith, Keenan McCardell
RB - Tiki Barber, Cadillac Williams, Brian Westbrook, Reuben Droughns (the last 2 are playing in flex spots)
TE - Jason Witten

on the bench: Brett Favre, Donte Stallworth, Terry Glenn, Marion Barber, Greg Jennings.

Josh Reed is my kicker, Pittsburgh & Atlanta are my defenses.

Brandon Jacobs, Charlie Frye, Ernest Wilford, Mark Clayton, Michael Jenkins, and Roddy White are some of the top FAs available.

I'm thinking about moving either Walker or Smith for another running back (possibly both for a 2nd QB), should I do that or am I set for the most part? This was an autodraft that I missed

Yeah I'm looking at dropping Volek for another player, just not sure yet, going to wait and see how the first week or so goes.

He has now changed the trade, saying he needs a RB in return, so here is the current trade:

Me giving up:
Jake Delhomme
Tatum Bell
Terrell Owens

Him giving up:
Donovan McNabb
Steven Jackson
Randy Moss

One not-quite-sure WR for another, 2 good QB's exchanged, and me getting a possible stud RB for a run-by-committee RB.

I think I'm going to take it, anyone think this a bad decision?

^^TAKE THAT AND RUN!

I wasnt much of a believer in randy moss till this weekend, then aaron brooks proved that they can be a fairly dangerous combination. 3 receptions for over 100 yards and 2 TDS will shut up the Raiders critics with the quickness.

soo, I would almost put T.O. and Moss at a similar level at this point if Owens was actually playing but he's not so Moss has the advantage, McNabb and Delhomme are pretty much at the same level, and Stephen Jackson blows Tatum Bell out of the water. Mike Bell, Tatum Bell and Ron Dayne will all split carries and I bet all three of them combined will come up short of what Jackson puts up this season.

Yeah I took it, now I think my team is more balanced.

Starters:
QB: McNabb and Leftwich(or McNair)
RB: LT and S. Jackson
WR: Harrison, Chambers, and Moss
TE: Witten
D/ST: Chicago

12 team league

QB: Eli Manning
RB: Steven Jackson
RB: Lamont Jordan
WR: Santana Moss
WR: Rod Smith
TE: Alge Crumpler
WR/RB: Keenan McCardell
DEF: Pittsburgh
K: Shayne Graham

Bench

QB Philip Rivers
RB: Chris Brown
RB Dominick Rhodes
WR: Antonio Bryant
WR: Braylon Edwards
DEF: Philiadelphia

I was the 11th pick by the way. Point system is 1 point for 10 yards receiving, 10 yards rushing, 40 yards passing. No bonuses for yardage milestones, no points for reception.

What do you think? Anyone on the bench more suitable to be a wildcard than mccardell?

Take Drew Bledsoe or Marc Bulger next. Then take Warner in a later round if possible, and actually start him over your first QB, he will score you tons of points, but he will probably get injured in a few weeks.

Out of those recievers I think I would take Darrell Jackson or Reggie Wayne.

Quote :
"why the hell do you have 2 kickers"

Yeah dude, you should drop one of them and pick up another backup QB. When a kicker has abye week just drop one of your late round players and pick up another kicker, then after that week drop your new kicker and pick your original player back up.

"Domanick Davis: Status in Jeopardy

Tuesday, August 29, 2006
Update: Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said Davis (knee) wouldn't play this week and the he will meet with the running back this Thursday, the Texans' official site reports. This is sounding a like a meeting to discuss Davis' immediate future. He hasn't played in any preseason games and could face the prospect of not making the active roster to begin the season.

Recommendation: "We’ll see what happens this week," said Kubiak. "We’ll probably have a sit-down Thursday before the game with himself, possibly his agent, the doctors, and everyone to just have a big meeting about where we are at. You won’t see him playing this week. For him to miss all this time, it’s not like all of a sudden he’s going to jump up there and play." Wali Lundy and Vernand Morency will likely share the running back job once the regular season rolls around."

seriously...in case you didn't already know, DO NOT DRAFT THIS LOSER.

I love Mario and all, but damn, this wont help the Texans fan base.

Here is my Team

Jake Delhomme,Rudi Johnson,Willis McGahee, Anquan Boldin,Santana Moss, Chris Cooley, Giants D/ST, Josh Scobee, Joey Galloway, Frank Gore, TJ Duckett, Eddie Kennison, Derrick Mason, Bengals D/ST, Laveranues Coles

I am picking up Ryan Lindell on the waiver wire for a backup kicker. I am thinking about trading Coles for Marc Bulger to pick up a second QB. Also, I was thinking of traiding Chris Cooley for Tony Gonzalez because I think he may have a better year. Any opinions on my team and the trades im considering?

Also my league starts 1 Qb, 1 Rb , One RB/WR, 2 WR , 1 TE, 1 D/ST, 1 K

I find it hard to believe someone would trade you Bulger for Coles, but if they'd take it I'd definitely take Bulger over Coles.

I'm not sold on Gonzalez this season, I think he'll be used way more blocking this season than recieving because of the retirement of Roaf. Wait and see on him, I think he'll be more like he was at the beginning of the season last year where his stats were way down. Cooley isn't consistent, he'll be huge one week but then disappear the next, so I'd wait and see how Tony is used.

-Mike Alstott (old, but steady)

there's absolutely nothing left in the league, so here's what im considering. im going to deal Philip Rivers for a solid RB. I'm covered at QB w/o him (drafted Alex Smith w/ my 17th pick and got Matt Leinart on waivers), I drafted him specifically as trade bait. Its more important that I get a 2nd good RB to go along w/ LJ. Good or bad, and how high should I aim when trying to get a RB for Rivers? I know I can probably get Jamal Lewis for him right now for sure (that team is currently starting Bret Favre).

PS: im a fantasy fb n00b, so if theres something im missing here, please shed some info.

Rivers > Alex Smith & Matt Leinart

Not sure why you're giving up your best QB right now, especially for the likes of Jamal Lewis who still hasn't shown he is back yet.

I think I'd possibly see if anyone was interested in Leinart, because if he does become the starter he'll surpass both of the other 2.

If not I'd look to hold Rivers and trade Alex Smith. I doubt you'll get much of a RB for Smith but it's worth a try.

You must be in a rather large league not to find a suitable #2 back.

If you're in an ESPN league, go to RB, and search Lundy for last name, if Wali is there, pick him up, he'll be starting most likely and he should be a decent #2 back.

Dude you have enough RB's you don't have enough WR's. You need to try to trade 2 of your 3-5 RB's for a decent wideout. See if you can get Joe Horn for T. Bell and C. Benson.
