I'm not exactly sure about Somalia, but the worst African nations are devoid of guns except for the criminals rampaging across the countryside. Take the Rwandan genocide, for example. The government before collapsing did a great job of disarming the populous. Therefore, when the government collapsed the gangs that managed to sieze military caches were free to rob/murder/pillage the countryside with no resistance.

Almost a million people were killed, imagine how different it might have been if the average family was armed. There is good reason to believe the government would not have collapsed if the average person could have helped restore law & order before it got too out of control.

actually somebody at the bar called teh cops...the cops searched the guys and found nothing...they had obviously stashed their pieces in the bushes or wherever...but im sure the cops feared the wrath of the "racial ambulance chasers" and the charlotte observer had they pursued anything further since the guys were black

also about 6-8 spots on that street got robbed about a year ago

my comment was about having a gun illegally in a bar. since nothing was going down you were just doing it out of caution (read: paranoia, if you like). you talk a big game about law abiding citizens needing guns, but then break the law. what makes you think someone else wouldnt do the same or worse with their guns.

i do know the laws myself

even if you have a concealed carry permit, its illegal to carry in a place that serves alcohol, among other places, ie govt buildings

however, what i did was with the knowledge and consent of every employee in the establishment including the owner

they know what can happen and what has happened...they dont give criminals the benefit of the doubt

some people put more value in protecting friends and loved ones than other bullshit

wouldnt you break the speed limit if it meant you wouldnt hit a fiery tanker truck?

they came up there to our room, started running their mouth, we were like, get the hell out of here we're at the beach tryna have a good time...

dude pulled knife on friend, friend knocked dude out, his boy pulls out sword cane and stabs it completely through my friends back
other friend of mine punches this guy, one of his boys stabs him we all get knives pulled on us while they stab danny 4 times and dave 7 times... the dude jumped up and down on him with the sword while he was laying on the ground dying... yelling at us "how's it feel to watch your boy die motherfuckers" then he slashes his throat and cuts his eyelids off

other friends were throwing bottles and everything else they could trying to stop it

none of us had a weapon other than our fists, if any of us had one it could have been prevented and bad people would have died

but instead, they did what they did skipped town, police found them 3 days later in a hotel in NC, they go to jail on numerous charges including other assault and robbery charges from NC... then get bailed the fuck out by their rich grandmother... only to skip town and not appear in court for what they did

and I shouldn't have the right to protect myself?

I really didn't want to tell this story again, but there you go... and thats the reason I bought my first firearm that wasn't a hunting weapon
