anyway I think VIR will have some historic races late September, possible vintage F1 cars..........I'll go to that
I will eventually get some of my USGP pictures onto photobucket and here, just playing around with the new camera in my spare time. 7/19/2007 12:56:08 PM |

Why is it funny? Even though Ferrari is one of the top teams in F1, they still need some good luck to make it to the highest podium! You know they don't wanna see McLaren on the top of the podium....

Any of you know about Kangaroo TV?
cheerwhiner, did you rent a kangaroo tv at USGP? I am thinking about renting it at Japan GP. I am sitting in front of pit lane, but I am wondering if the air/radio wave is good enough.. 7/22/2007 9:32:07 PM |

no, 'cause i sat right in front of a video screen anyway. I think a radio is all you need for the track broadcast
kinda pricey but you can switch camera views. i spent most of my time taking pictures anyway 7/22/2007 9:52:23 PM |

Yesterday was too pretty a day to sit in front of the TV. So I taped it and watched both the F1 and the Rolex enduro last night. both were excellent.
I think nascar is boring as shit to watch on TV, but killer in person (because you can see the whole track)
road racing is much harder to keep up with in person for the opposite reason. 7/23/2007 10:05:50 AM |

Well, some articles say yes, others say no and he is testing two days this week for STR. I think he drives for them until they get another driver available. STR does not have a test driver who could replace him at this time and BMW isn't letting Vettel go just yet. 7/24/2007 12:35:34 PM |

Quote : | "Scott Speed provided some comic relief at the dreary Nurburgring on Friday.
After a torrential storm washed out GP2 practice at the scene of the European grand prix, Toro Rosso’s American racer revealed how he dealt with visitors to the team’s motor home who kept using toilets that are reserved for the drivers.
“I got p-ssed with people using our bathroom so I made this cool notice and pinned it to the door,” he said.
“It said: ‘Are you one of the ridiculously good looking drivers of Toro Rosso? Are you a hot bird accompanied by one of the ridiculously good looking Toro Rosso drivers? If not, then this bathroom is NOT for you’.
“Actually, if anyone asks, I’m saying it had nothing to do with me, because the note is signed off, ‘Management.’ And I’m just the driver right?” " |

stowaway All American 11770 Posts user info edit post |
he actually hasn't left. He's still under contract and his situation will be looked at after the hungarian gp. if vettel sucks speed may get the seat back for the remainder of the year. Tost/Berger as grade a assholes who can't manage a team to be much better than backmarkers. With the technology they have, they should be battling with SA and Williams/Toyota on a more consistent basis. 8/1/2007 2:34:40 PM |
cheerwhiner All American 8302 Posts user info edit post |
its one of those situations, I think, where no matter who is in this car, they are gonna suck. I mean its the car more than the driver.............even if Bourdais goes there next year, he's gonna be a backmarker.
Remember the last Champcar guy to go to F1----DaMatta? Yeah well he went to TOYOTA which was a bad team.
Montoya did fairly well in F1, battled Schumacher, but he went directly to Williams in their last years of being GOOD.
Even put Alonso, Massa, et in the STR and they will probably do no better than Speed.
Tost just wants an excuse to 'try' another driver; just looking to get their name in the press, although for a bad reason. Vettel has proven experience (1 race, and finished in the points) So he MUST be able to get points in the Torro Rosso right? 8/1/2007 7:36:15 PM |

1 race in a car that, at the time, could possibly challenge ferrari for 4th place (if it were reliable, heidfeld and kubica have shown the speed the car has this year) yet he only managed 8th place while letting a toyota, rbr, and renault (heikki of all people) get past him. 8/1/2007 8:21:41 PM |
cheerwhiner All American 8302 Posts user info edit post |

hamilton was supposed to let alonso by at the very beginning of q3. he didn't do that so he screwed himself a little there in terms of fuel strategy. alonso's race engineer was holding him in the pits at the end, the whole timing can't be straight up alonso because he doesn't have a timer in the car showing how much time is left in the session.
