No, just means do it longer...or do different things on different days...it may just be becoming routine?

Well yesterday was the first day I did toning type exercises. Maybe we need heavier weights.

Thing is the first day all I did was cardio and I was sore as Hell, today I feel nearly no pain. I just hope it means it was useless! I'm going to do some cardio again today though.

"The old axiom, "no pain, no gain," is just that... old and outdated. Pain or soreness isn't a valid measure of the benefit from exercise. Muscle soreness befalls beginner exercisers embarking on a new program. It can occur with a conditioned individual who is working at a greater intensity, frequency, and/or duration than s/he is used to. It also happens to well-trained people who begin a new activity. Muscle soreness may also be a result of overuse, which may eventually lead to injury. Soreness is not an effective measure of progress.

Meeting goals in terms of developing strength or endurance needs to be the focus of any exercise program. Well-defined goals are results that you are able to attain through measurable behavior changes. Examples: I want to be able to do 10 push-ups; I want to be able to run a 10K by the end of the year, etc. Goals are specific and measurable. Soreness may be a result of training toward meeting a goal, but is not a goal in and of itself. It is a consequence of training, but not a direct reflection of accomplishment.

girls like to lift weenie weights. If you can do more than 12 reps, you're not getting significant strength benefit

Quote :
"i heard boys like girls with a .7 boobs to waist ratio, just saying"

it's actually waist-to-hip ratio. No matter your weight, 0.7 is always the most attractive. For example, Marilyn Monroe, who is curvy, had a 0.7 and so did skinny Audrey Hepburn. Losing weight may or may not change your ratio

I'm new to this whole exercising thing. I just figured I'd be sore like last time especially since the exercise routine has intensified.

Sorry I meant strengthing not toning...wtfever.

Well we did 15 reps with 5, then 8lbs. then finally 10lbs. I was feeling it with the 10lbs., it was rough but I could still do it.

Working out in the afternoon sucks. I got a cramp 5 minutes into the damn thing. I stepped off, moved to an easier machine, then would switch back on. Morning workouts rock!

I haven't had a soda in two weeks. Only bread I eat is wheat. Weed is not my thing. Eating is a cool thing to do yo!

lift weights every now and then as well light weight is ok

it cuts your fat ALOT longer than cardio does and for alot longer after you are finished working out.

id tone up with weights about 3 times a week
you will notice a huge difference.

drink milk as well, calcium is one of the best fat burners around.
peanut butter as long as its low fat low sugar...none of that jiffy mess
whole grain bread...lots of fiber from anything oatmeal, beans, broccoli

sounds like u are doing good though going to the gym and all id just add in a few weight stuff and u should be set.

I love milk! I am drinking skim right now!

In between one of my painful bouts with the elliptical I got on the medicine ball and did some weight lifting.

Right now I'm hitting the gym three times a week, if I get motivated I'll go in before work one day. Thing is my physically demanding job is a 10hr. shift and it sucks, I don't know how well I'll do with working out beforehand and lasting the rest of the day.

I do know that morning workouts are ftw even if I'm not a morning person.

does marijuana really raise your metabolism. It can make you hungry for a multitude of reasons, not necessarily because your metabolism is raised. If this is true, could you post a link for me to check out later? i'm at work and don't wnat to go looking for that sort of thing.

If you are serious about what you eat and work out alot then yeah you can lose more than 2 pounds a week. over the summer i lost about 30 pounds in a month. That was with eatting better food and less of it and working out for like 4 hours a day.

Well I've lost 4 lbs. so far and it's been a week. I'm incredibly sore today because we did a lot of weight lifting yesterday. I'm going to try and fit a workout in this weekend but I'm friggin' tired and my days are friggin' long.

That article is awesome. My cheats ahve been small and like every other day, dieting sucks. Condensing them into one day would be good. I no longer crave fast food or soda so that's great!

More weight to go!

^^I don't know. I got a personal trainer and he pushes me to work harder than I would on my own. Especially starting out, going from never working out to losing weight and gaining muscle I had no idea where to begin. He seems to be doing a good job because the weight is coming off and I'm getting stronger. Personal trainers are expensive but I'd recommend them to people like me, who don't have a clue about this sort of thing.

Hmmm would Aviane have the same effect? Usually I lose weight pretty quickly/easily when I simply change my diet. Now I'm exercising and diet and have only lost 4 lbs. so far.... I've been on the diet for two/three weeks now...exercise one week.

So how quickly does one gain weight? I lost a lot but then a few days later gained some back. Thing is I didn't exercise for the last four days and cheated a little teenie bit on my diet. I believe my waist is getting smaller, I can't grab as much yummy fat as before and I have kept some weight off. I'm wondering if it was water weight or fat from retardedness coming back on. I know I need to go to the gym more than three times a week and I'm getting to that point.

Also, my left elbow tendon that connects to my tricep hurts when I fully extend or fully retract during chest presses. Que pasa? When using that arm I won't go all the way in or out and it doesn't hurt. He said it might be tendonitis but that it's usually on the side of the elbow and mine is behind. Anything I should be cautious about? WTF is it?!

Ok thx.

A decent amount of your weight gain is probably from teh muscle youv'e been gaining. muscle is more dense than fat, so if you still feel skinnier and you're back near the same weight that is probably a good part of it. Four days and a little cheating on yoru diet wouldnt make you gain any back, to be honest. you'd have to be taking in more calories than you're burning. So in theory not going to the gym for a while should only result in your weight rate of decrease reducing itself instead of weight gain increasing. hope this helps. /soapbox

Awesome thanks. I was seriously pissed at myself when I stepped on the scale the last few days. However I kept losing weight until my soreness went away, then I gained and got mad as Hell. I was hoping my metabolism has increased by now so the resting rate is higher than before I started working out.

You're not going to be able to put on muscle if you're eating that little. Also, what are you doing at the gym and what are you eating?

It'd also be helpful to know your height and weight.

1000 calorie diet girl may not be losing weight because her metabolism has slowed due to low food intake. she probably also has lost some muscle mass which has in turn resulted in also a lower metabolism.

1000 calories is way too little. It's so far under what you need in a day, your body will think it's starving and start to shut down. EXTREMELY bad idea. When I was dieting, I needed about 2500 calories/day. When I tried to live on 1800, I felt like dog shit and didn't drop weight any faster if at all.

i started eating WAY healthier and my diet is probably around 1000 a day

i dont really calorie count, but i just decided i'd eat normally and count how much i take in

i feel fine, and it's not intentional...and i still run about an hour a day

i'm not saying this is healthy, just saying that i actually have MORE energy than i used to, but my food choices are MUCH better

the mirror will never make you feel good, trust me

i've lost "plenty" of weight, and dropped almost 4 pant sizes, yet i still look in the mirror and feel horrible

of course, if i'd taken a before picture in bra and panties, and then looked at that everyday, i'd totally see a difference and feel better

My pants also fit me the same in the mother effin waist. My legs are better but dammit my belly is the problem center. I bet that fat comes off last just because.

I'm so tired, hopefully it's a combination of not getting enough sleep and then not sleeping well when I am in bed and not because the workout is too rough.

And I jsut found out they need me at work tonight, rawr.

It's okay. I didn't see results quickly last time I worked out either, well not until I stopped eating and moving altogether, then I lost a shit ton!

This is gonna take longer than I hoped it would.
