One thing that has irked me so far is that you can use VATS to target's something's head, take the health of the head down to zero (i.e. "X's head was crippled") but that doesn't seem to mean it's dead.

I don't mind VATS but it seems like he's having a 90% success rate the whole time. In FO1/FO2 to get that using a rifle you had to be pretty far in the game (aiming your shot instead of just shooting). Also a hit to the head didn't kill (advanced) things with one shot ever

well he is waiting until they are at point blank almost. even in fallout 1 you'd get a good percentage that close.

worst case though you can think of it as turn-based. no different than waiting for your turn and then doing it. he did seem to run out of points eventually and had to fight normal.

This seems to be the case. You can just shoot like in an FPS as well.

Yeah, it's not exactly turn based, but you can queue up actions. If you're shooting a gun, you can make it so that you shoot 3 times in rapid succession. You do have a sort of action bar, where you can only queue up so many actions at once depending on the type of weapon.

Older PC games in general are harder than modern games is some ways. I would rather have an enjoyable game rather than a blistering hard game that ruins my fun and experience. I understand what you are saying, but if I spend $60 on a game I would at least like to finish it and have fun in the process.

i was able to play some during lunch today and i already have a complaint

the head model you use to create your appearance is shit

it keeps dimming and it is dificult to see what effects some of the sliders are actually having

would it have been too dificult to have a nice big clear image like oblivion or mass effect

minor issue, but i like to bitch

seems the ps3 version has a lot of bugs - i picked it up at lunch today

whats funny is i was going down the elevator and saw one of the fat old support guys coming in with a gamestop bag and asked him what game he got - of course if was fallout 3

he's probably playing it on his work pc right now

hopefully they will fix some of the ps3 issues
